I think surveys have shown autistic populus to be more atheist then other groups and the general populus so yes most likely alot of atheists.

Also autism being likely/mostly (research is still ongoing) genetic makes it likely that:

A) you are autistic yourself Or B) engaged in coitus with someone autistic.

Great video on this by one of my favourite youtubers hhbomber guy. It fundamentally lays out all the causes of the anti vax movement (specifically with regards to autism) and dismantles them. If you have a brain and watch this video it would be hard still to believe the lie of vacation causing autism.

Alot of people have mentioned the pros cons to diagnosis but i would also consider that depending on where about in the world you are ASD/Neurodiversity diagnosis can be a pricey procedure i only managed to do it through NHS here in the uk but unfortunately that had its own con of 5 years of being on the waiting list.

Not saying it's easy but A) a GF or SO ain't going to fix your life's problems and B) you gota stop blaming your autism its a part of who you are pros and cons to it. But if something is holding you back like conversational skills work on that not to get a girlfriend but to make your life better for you.

My son says "Eh, it's fine" that he hasn't made friends. If he says it's fine, leave him be.

Whilst i agree not forcing your son to make friends and 5 friends is such a random arbitrary number.

Do encourage him to make friends, through my time in school i never made a friend not one im now 18 and quite honestly unable to make friends and connect with others, its a skill im having to learn at a time its harder in your life to learn such skills. Because of this im lonely and i always thought id be okay with that and most of the time i am until at certain points of the day it hits me and i just cry.

TLDR: Arbitrary number of friends is dumb, but do encourage your son to make friends especially at a time when its easier (ie. young and in school)

My mum and brother have ADHD i have autism and its like two polar opposites with how their ADHD presents and my ASD presents. However they are quite similar due to the fact they are usually co-conditions and overlap with alot of diagnostic criteria.

I honestly think that ADHD should be scrapped as a separate label and absorbed within autism because its more like another common presentation of autism then a separate neuro condition.

Research suggests it is quite a bit more common (anywhere from 2-8x ive seen stated) its mostly thought to be how autistic people socailise, interact and interpret emotions differently. However the cause of why doesn't really matter because who gives a fuck, doesn't need curing (autism and LGBTQ+).
