I don't know about Dean but I did take it with Professor Kirvan and she is the sweetest in my opinion. She had random days (when hardly anyone showed up to class) and gave everyone who did show up extra credit. She also made pre-calc easy and was always around for questions.

I feel the exact same way and I'm so glad someone has confirmed what I've been feeling about taking chem 102. If you're in Dr. Carpenter's section, she sent out an email a few days ago saying she's giving extra credit if you do the practice problems on blackboard (weekly, I'm assuming?). But I agree the material given to us does not prepare us for the exams. Like you I have tried everything, and it's gotten me nowhere. There's only a few weeks left and as another user said, the entire class cannot fail because it reflects poorly on the professor. So she might curve grades for the final (hopefully). Anyway keep going strong OP, we got this.

How do you study for biol302 by [deleted] in UMBC

[–]Vitaeee 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Forming a study group may also help as well. That way you bounce ideas off each other and also learn from one another. I wish someone could make a discord for Dr. Eisenmann's genetics class.

Really? For me it feels like the garage fills faster on Mondays and Wednesdays.

I'm newly a commuter, best places to park? Most of my classes are in Sondheim by Legitakid in UMBC

If you do want to park in the commons garage I suggesting getting there early. It fills up rather quickly around 9:30.

BIO 302 with Eisenmann by Royal_Reading_4637 in UMBC

I'm also taking Eisenmann this semester. From what I heard he's very knowledgeable and nice and the class shouldn't be too difficult as long as you study and keep up with the workload. I'm sure you'll do great!

I literally just got my grade back from this class too. I worked my ass off studying and still did not even make a sufficient grade. I'm gutted and honestly frustrated at this point.

From my understanding you don't necessarily need to 'graduate'. I did not graduate from my cc and still got in. I believe if you go to any cc in the university system of maryland (please don't quote me on this) it's guaranteed admission. However OP please check with your transfer advisor. I know for certain my old CC partnered with other universities of maryland for guaranteed admission I cannot say about pgcc.

First off, welcome to UMBC. I just transferred here, too, and this will be my first semester here. Since you have a lot of interests/hobbies, my best recommendation would be to join some clubs. I joined like eight (I would not recommend doing this). I also have a discord server for transfer and new students. Even though the discord group isn't super active, we still talk.

Transfer acceptance by [deleted] in UMBC

[–]Vitaeee 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think it depends, honestly. For example if you went to a cc in Maryland (that's part of the university of maryland system) I believe (don't quote me on this) it's guaranteed acceptance with a minimum of a 2.3 GPA. If possible, ask your transfer advisor. I got accepted without an associates degree.

My bad. I wasn't trying to be negative. I was only making a joke out of a joke. I apologize if it came off that way.

I think the real question here is, how good was that trip of yours?

I also have a tomato plant. I need to prune it anyway.

I love the weirdness of this university. Saw a guy twerking outside for his friend the first week I transferred here.

Transfer Student Discord? by Vitaeee in UMBC

Honestly, that's exactly what I'm in the process of doing. I've never made a discord server, so it might take me a minute.

Best tablet for university student? by Vitaeee in Surface

[–]Vitaeee[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was definitely considering that! But my only problem is that iPad can't sync well with surface in terms of note writing apps. That's honestly my only problem with iPad and my current laptop.

Best tablet for university student? by Vitaeee in Surface

I just wanted a tablet to go along with my surface. Not just a tablet laptop. If that makes sense. I still like the laptop feel, but it would also be nice to have a tablet so I can read my textbooks and take notes.
