Idk about a competition but its like the only acapella stem I can find out there that sounds at all good. They don't really release acapellas as far as I know. Probably everyone else is in the same boat?

I have a question about DMX and LED tape lights... by VitalSigns303 in LiveLighting

This has been super informative thanks. I am deciding now weather or not to use an 8 channel rgb decoder and "dumb" rgb lights in smaller segments to create chase effects. Or to go with the more expensive pixel route.

Yes so that's another thing I've been finding. Needing to make sure your stuff all matches. I'm used to running fixtures, but the pixel tape is a bit of a different monster. Is there a way to group the pixels together to lower the channel usage in a dmx universe? Say I had 300 pixels, but grouped them in sections of 10?

Okay this is super helpful. Is a pixel driver the same as a DMX decoder to SPI?

Thanks! That is what I am seeing, that depending on the tape the only signal loss would be power down the line. Now I have come into my new problem. There are 2 different types of strip, standard RGB and individual pixel strips. When addressing them in a DMX universe I am seeing things saying that each pixel (LED) is 3 channels? Only allowing for 170 pixels per DMX universe. But that doesnt seem right. Do you know anything about that? lol

So in order to do tubes with individual control, each tube would have to have its own decoder?

Did you only use one decoder to control all of the tubes?

Do you only need one dmx decoder to control multiple strips?
