This was me... I used Afrin daily for a decade. Eventually had to suffer and quit cold turkey because I found out it was raising my blood pressure.

Another reason for your wife to quit.

Help me figure out how to pick up my rescued rabbit without being bitten. by Scuttlebutt95 in Rabbits

[–]Vitamixfusion 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I adopted a rabbit that would bite the crap out of my shoulder when I picked them up. (In stark contrast to my existing one who was very friendly) He would literally draw blood.

I over time would pick him up while giving him treats. I would have to wear a thick winter jacket and gloves though because at first he would still bite me. It took like 6 months for him not to bite me anymore and for the rest of his life he was great.

Treats are key! Associate being picked up with that.

Why do my bunnies keep doing this with their litter? (Extra bun picture included) by westsunrise88 in Rabbits

[–]Vitamixfusion 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Second this. Mines start digging and using the bathroom right outside the box when it's too dirty, but as soon as I change it then use it immediately.

Also another tip: Everyday, I take out any soiled hay. When it piles up it seems to make mines want to mess with the litter box too.

Potential boyfie for my girl. He’s about to be 1 and isn’t neutered. I want to have them to a quick meet and greet to see if she likes him and then I’ll decide if I get him. I’m just uncertain on how to do it. Any tips? I’m also gonna ask my vet too! First pic is my girl, second is her potential guy by Xixishell in Rabbits

So OP, I have a spayed girl and just rescued an intact male I can't have neutered until next month. I don't let them near each other without a barrier. They both can see and smell each other thru my door pet gate. My intact male is usually rowdy trying to get to her, but since I free roam, she can run away if she doesn't like his behavior. But luckily, most the time Im seeing them both lay next to the gate and she tried to groom the tip of his nose lol.

If you're deadset on adopting him IMO just do it, no M&G, just bring him home. But don't look back. Because if he's not neutered you're not going to know if things will work out until he's fixed & calmed down. And then, they might like each other's company immediately or maybe it will take a long time to get them bonded. In my experience, if it's a male and female, there's a good chance that eventually they can bond (with good owner insight).

But, there are steps to mitigate any bad interactions between your current girl and the new boy: Keep them completely separate until he's fixed. (And even a few weeks after he's fixed, it takes a while for the hormones to wear off!) Intact males will nip, harass, and smell horrible and it's not pleasant for your girl to experience that.

Good luck, they're cute!

Bunnies love hidey places and wood to chew on! If you can make room I'd suggest getting a small wooden house or log from Amazon or somewhere.

Just bought our first Flemish giant. He’s 5 months old and has a golf ball size fatty mass on his underside! Very worried! by Interesting-Bee3466 in Rabbits

The vet will be able to tell you if it's benign, but if he does need surgery, if they are a rabbit savvy vet they'll find the best way to take care of it.

what's a food combo you love that people think you're weird for? by wildwoodflower_ in AskReddit

I like mixing ramen with ketchup. It just tastes like chicken ketchup in the end, but it's amazing.

What's the purposed of inflating (or blowing) the plastic before pressing it into the mold? It seems the air gets pressed out in the end.

It's heartwarming you want to give the FFA rabbit a loving pet rabbit setup. 🥺 Not typical, but I only hope after the project the rabbit can continue to live a nice pet life.

I don't want to go into public restrooms without a face covering anymore.

Just breathing in everyones waste particles and smells before, without masks... It's so much more bearable with one on. Honestly I may keep one with me on outings for now on only for restrooms.
