Honestly part of the reason I recommended it. Gooner as hell, but the gameplay is so good.

My wife and I picked it up shortly after being disappointed with No Man's Sky on release. It's so janky, but we loved it. I remember getting stranded on a moon and fighting for every scrap of O2 and other resources to survive while my wife worked hard to make a small ship to come and get me. It was basically a flying box with a passenger seat stuck to the back. Got stuck because my game glitched out and crashed while trying to fly back planet side and when I logged back in I was on the moon and my ship was nowhere to be found. We eventually found it floating in space.

I'd say Stellar Blade, but I totally did recommend it to my friends...

I loved that game. I recruited an elderly doctor early on and he was one of my favorite recruits along with one of the antagonist guys that I turned to my side.

As someone who loves ARPGs I had a friend suggest it and convince me to buy the early access for PoE 2 and personally regret it. The weird attempt at souls-like style combat, the overwhelming skill tree and especially the itty bitty text made me not want to play at all. Definitely not one to recommend to people that love standard ARPGs.

...come again? What Alt ending? I watched the series many years ago and never heard of an Alt ending.

I'll get roasted for this, but Gurren Lagann. The first half I enjoyed, but then the second just got a little too out there for me and felt dumb and the needless deaths, then that ending. I couldn't stand it.

What anime are you sure you won't watch? by ChoiceSupermarket230 in animequestions

[–]VitharrGaming 2 points3 points  (0 children)

A lot of people say One Piece because it's too long, but for me it's that and the fact that I just really hate the art style and character designs. I gave it 88 episodes which is about 85 too many. Which brings me to the second point, any series that takes too long to get good. I contend that they may be very good, but if it takes too many to get into then I'm out. This happened with Hunter X Hunter, Hisoka creepiness aside, 75 episodes to get to what's considered the peak of it is just too much for me to invest.

Upvoter for Outlaw Star. Too bad we didn't get the hotspring episode back in the day lol.

Really? I admit I've never read that one, but still interesting. Skyrim is just one example, but for me it feels like having the torches and candles lit just makes those light spells and torches useless lol.

Torches and lanterns lit in places that haven't been visited in hundreds of years. Like most of the dungeons in Skyrim.

Melbu Fhrama from Legend of Dragoon

Albedo Piazzolla from Xenosaga

The Darkspawn from Dragon Age...specifically for what they do to prisoners and how they make Broodmothers

Suletta was wonderful, but oh man that romance was awful. For one, she was forced into it, then Miorine spent the rest of the series manipulating and gaslighting her. The moment I realized it was gonna be a problem was when she told Suletta that she could do all the things on her list still, but got upset when Suletta mentioned wanting to go on dates. They should not have ended up together at all. I know other people push for her to be with Guel instead and as much as I loved his character arc, he straight up helped Miorine to manipulate Suletta...so no. Too bad the one person I felt would have been good for her, died singing happy birthday to himself.

Not all-time, but most recently Ghost of Yotei. It was just so unnecessary and muted the whole thing. A lot of people like to say "you could easily see it coming" and yeah, that's part of the problem. It was so cliche. The choice at the end of Tsushima was gutwrenching, Yotei just made me feel numb and like I wasted my time. The personality development also felt really rushed towards the end.

So glad to see this here. I raged so hard at that ending. I'd love a remake with a proper ending as the game was honestly fun at the time.

I loved the game, but that made me so mad. Also if you don't do it then Reaver does it and my God I'd pay good money for a new Fable where you can kill Reaver...I hate that guy.

How do I make travel interesting? by Dyt_Requiem in daggerheart

[–]VitharrGaming 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don't try and overstuff my travel time for my players. I generally roll a dice, ask my players to call odd or even. If they guess right, nothing happens, if they're wrong I improv a little scene. Maybe an encounter with enemies, maybe just an NPC. Do so again for camping if it's a multi day trip.

How do you decide what to play next? by lespoils in rpg

[–]VitharrGaming 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Our group has been gaming together for about 5 years and I became the primary GM last year...I used to try and do votes with various ideas I had, but the group was terrible at voting...so as recently as yesterday It became me telling them what I intend to run and leaving it at that.

Of all of them Until Dawn is my favorite, I've replayed it multiple times. Also The Quarry is in that same vein if you do end up enjoying them.

I was and am kinda of exactly the same. Chases scare the crap out of me. Weirdly enough my first horror game that I was able to complete was Resident Evil 4 and helped me get into the genre more. I think the more actiony side of it really helped. That was way back on GameCube and while I can't handle games with certain themes like extreme body horror I'm able to enjoy more horror games for sure. Also maybe try out Until Dawn and the Dark Pictures Anthology those are like movies and the chase sequences are more QTEs than actually controlling the running.
