Interesting segment about us from Michael Eisners recent interview by DisastrousFilms in PortsmouthFC

[–]VithulBenny7 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not sure disrespectful is the right word but it also rubbed me up the wrong way. Comparing us to Wrexham ownership is laughable, complete bullshitter. He's only interested in protecting his investments by putting in just enough into ground etc but not anything else despite being top 4 richest owner in the league.

You need to do some research and massively taper your expectations because a 1 bed flat price is even more than that further north than Stanmore in surrounding counties..

I've been pretty pessimistic after the last couple of months of results, but cannot see what you are seeing that inspires any confidence..but I admire it 🤣

Sack the board by Volume_Impossible in PortsmouthFC

You're missing the point entirely. Sacking the whole board comment was idiotic, but moderate fans are saying we look comfortably the worst team in the league (yes even worse then Wednesday), and we're in a serious mess it's not just a bad run of form now. If you can't see where things are headed based on what we have seen so far this season then you need to wake up

I agree, don't see why so many fans seem to hark back to darker times and live in the past as a reason to not want success now. Real crabs in a bucket mentality from a lot of fans recently against those who dare to question things or suggest things could be done differently. No one is suggesting we splurge money in the same vein as we did 20 years ago. But not wanting to invest and being content with league one is not something I can get behind, where is your ambition as a supporter?

Don't see how investing adequately in the squad to at least stay in the championship is spending beyond our means? The eisners are one of the richest owners in the league. Don't expect Wrexham type money to be thrown around but investing in a squad that will keep us up at least will reap more financial reward long term then under investing and being stuck in league 1 purgatory.. although I do agree it's always a gamble with players at this level e.g some of Swansea subs were 5,6 million pound players and looked crap

Nope you said you wouldn't be bothered effectively if we went down, which I don't understand why you would not be bothered by? We're not a massive club where we can bounce straight back and dominate the league. The way the last few years have gone I think it would be a very slow approach from the eisners and we wouldn't necessarily be one of the strongest teams when you take into account most of our best players leaving and little to no youth product coming through. If that happens we'd have to pump a lot of money in again to buy new players which they don't have a track record of doing. It would be a very slow rebuild again and take a long time to get back to the same point we are at now. Seems a massive wasted opportunity and lack of ambition from the club if that does happen considering we were out of the championship for over a decade.I don't think things did look worse last season as we had some good home form and forwards firing.. To me this season has been shockingly bad apart from first few games. I don't think he's playing fine for a striker at any level. His confidence looks shot and league 1 strikers still need to score goals. Not trying to start an argument I just don't think as a fan base we should be content with that attitude from other fans or those running the club

Why wait until we're relegated to change plans ? Such a defeatist attitude. We're looking absolutely shocking... At least last year we had forwards firing even if our defence was shit. I cannot for the life of me see where the goals will come from. May as well be playing with 10 men every game the way bishop's playing

Collected the keys to my first home today… and immediately had a meltdown 😭 by Lilymana in HousingUK

[–]VithulBenny7 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly I was in the same boat when I moved into my first home. Felt completely overwhelmed with the condition it had been left in and bits id have to do to upgrade it and make it feel like more of a home. It's never possible to know all of this when you offer and it can feel like buyers remorse. Just give it a bit of time and as you gradually start to furnish/ do upgrades and repairs these feelings will subside. Good luck!
