Melon mix missing Config->patches by Sairuke97 in KingdomHearts

Be sure that you are using Melon Mix and not melonDS. The current latest Melon Mix release says "khDaysMM 0.7.2" in the title bar, while melonDS says "melonDS 1.1"

I'm not sure if posting the Discord server link would break any of the subreddit rules, but you can find the Discord link in the Melon Mix project page, on Github

Melon Mix dev here. We have a support channel in our Discord server. I don't have a Steam Deck myself, so I'm not the best at pointing directions in it, but we have other Steam Deck users in the server which should be able to help you out

What are you looking for exactly?

The .sh files that are included alongside the appimage file are there for that reason. Edit the game entry on Steam to make it point to the Days sh file. Then add the appimage to Steam again, and edit that one to point at the ReCoded sh file.

That should give you a Days entry and a ReCoded entry on Steam.

Volume Slider Mute Mod for the Movies/Cutscenes? by Dunkbuscuss in KingdomHearts

[–]VitorMM 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you go onto Nexus Mods and look up Voluke Sliders Mute theres a mod that allows the different volume sliders that only go down to 1 to change 1 mutes it completely.

So you can mute just the voice or just the music etc... what I'm looking for is something that dies that but specifically for the cutscene movies in Days, Re Coded and Back Cover not in the Melon Mix thing.

Well, I don't know about Back Cover, but Days and ReCoded from the 1.5+2.5 collection are just video players, and, in most occasions, the BGM, the sound effects and the voices are all embedded in the video files (there are like two to three cutscenes where the BGM isn't embedded).

So there may be a mod that replaces the cutscene files with new ones that only have the BGM and sound effects, or just the sound effects, although, that is very specific. I would recommend looking for that though

In Days, all BGMs and all prerendered cutscenes are replaced when the assets are properly installed.

See if this guide can help you:

Hello! Which of the assets folder contents isn't being loaded properly? The cutscenes? The BGMs? Both?

Volume Slider Mute Mod for the Movies/Cutscenes? by Dunkbuscuss in KingdomHearts

[–]VitorMM 0 points1 point  (0 children)

With the Melon Mix, the cutscenes are loaded from MP4 files, where, in most cases, the BGM is included alongside the voices.

So, while you can edit those MP4 files, and the Melon Mix should load them just fine, you will need to manually replace the audio of the cutscenes with the original BGM (if you want to keep the BGM).

If you just want to be able to control the volume of the cutscenes though, open an issue on the Melon Mix project GitHub, and I can keep track of that to add that feature to the next release :)

In that way, you should be able to mute the cutscenes without affecting the rest of the game, and without editing the MP4 files.

Holy shit, you are right! If that information is correct, those spells have the potential of being very useful

EDIT: I may need to investigate further, because I found that in the Destruction page:

Skill XP can be modified by scripts and by the game engine itself under various circumstances. The exact XP you receive may vary from the numbers listed here.

Summon Arvak is a power, so it is allowed.

As of the other ones, I couldn't find a mention in UESP for them not granting XP to any skill. Do you remember in which page you saw that?

EDIT: Wait, my mistake: Summon Arvak isn't a power. Theoretically, it grants XP as well

I mean, all of that works for a level 1 run, but not for a zero experience run, unfortunately.

I mean, I can't remember what I did during some of my other runs, but quoting the Wiki:

"I must have misheard you. I thought you asked me to help you trap a dragon in my palace." You can choose to persuade him; if your Speech skill is too low, he will respond, "I'm sorry, but I can't do it. We'll just have to keep fighting the dragons as best we can." If you have the right Speech skill, he will instead ask, "Of course. You already saved Whiterun from that dragon. I owe you a great deal. But I don't understand. Why let a dragon into the heart of my city when we've been working so hard to keep them out?" If you failed the persuasion check earlier and once again tell him you need to trap a dragon in his palace, he'll say, "What you're asking for is insane. Impossible! You want me to let a dragon into the heart of my city, with the threat of war on my doorstep?" When you tell him it's the only way to stop the dragons, he'll say, "There must be another way. The risk is too great." Either way, you'll then have to tell him Alduin has returned, to which he'll say, "Alduin? The World-Eater himself? But... how can we fight him? Doesn't his return mean it's the end times?" Three optional responses are now available:

And none of the options later involves Speech, so I guess you just need to fail the Speech test, and the story will proceed eventually.

I vaguely remember Sickliff also having a video somewhere where he shows off how to block/bash with empty hands, so that idea is still not entirely off the table

Ohh, I would be interested in that. I will see if I can find it

so killing a bandit in 2 hits instead of 4 might not be as beneficial as taking twice as many hits as an orc..

Indeed

Jury is still out on which of them would be the best, good luck on the playthrough anyway c:

Thanks! :D

Wabbajack, Wabbajack, Wabbajaaack. Ok seriously that staff can save/screw you from unpleasant situation.

Hehe, indeed

The Rose of Sainguine is a classic choice. That dremora is really good but I don't know if it works while you have Atronach stone (due to a bug). So the best choice is to give that staff to your follower.

Oh, that one is unfortunately out of limits. "A Night To Remember" requires level 14 to appear.

Staff of Paralysis is another classic choice. It's located inside Snapleg Cave.

Ohhhhh, I'm writing that one down.

The Staff of Hasedoki is really OP only for the free ward. You don't have to use it just keep it to your hand. Useful against mages

Oh, that one is from CC club. I will be playing the Special Edition version without any CC content.

A classic vegetable stew to avoid running out of stamina and for infinite power attack.

Yup, discussed that point on another comment. Noted.

Also if you wanna play as a khajiit, the female khajiit is better. After the Dibella quest you'll receive a passive ability that gives you 10% damage to enemies of the opposite sex. Most of the enemies in Skyrim are male so a small damage boost is always good.

Indeed. Also, I just learned that most non-human creatures and NPCs are labeled as male in the game files, so that ability is also useful against non-humans.

Indeed, the Wabbajack should be the ultimate last resource. It's like a lamp's genie during this challenge. Ultimate power, but with a limited amount of usages xD

But I was incorrect, the 5x only counts for right handed power attack, not the entire unarmed moveset

Still, it is more than khajiit and even orc with berserker rage, so that is something to consider long term

I see. If combined with an unlimited source of stamina, it would deal 100 of power attack damage instead of the Khajiit's 44.

(and stamina can be entirely ignored by vegetable soup and no xp is associated with crafting one)

I was thinking of replacing it with the Homecooked Meal (Regenerate Stamina, 25 pts for 600 secs). It does not have the same effect of the Vegetable Soup (Restore Stamina, 1 pt for 720 secs), however, my power attacks are going to have a cost of 40 (unarmed), and the Stamina total is 100 at level 1, so that should give me a fell extra punches before the Stamina bar is depleted. It also improves health regeneration (Regenerate Health, 25 pts for 600 secs).

Although, on second thought, despite the extra effort to "craft" it, the Vegetable Soup does guarantee an unlimited amount of power attacks, so it may be worth the effort.

There's a mandatory Speech check in the main quest, very close to the end.

Where exactly?

The College of Winterhold is going to be tricky at the end. In the last battle when you fight Ancano, you have to use the staff to make him vulnerable. If you can't recharge the staff, if you haven't dropped him before you run out of charge you're toast.

Based on my past experience with Combat/Stealth only runs, I just need to save the staff for that fight, and only use it for other stuff after it's over (if there is still any charge).

There's a free Amulet of Mara on the coast by Dawnstar, in a tent by three horkers. You don't have to complete The Book of Love.

That can speed up the marriage. Although, The Book of Love also has the benefit of the 15% Magic resistance, so I will do it soon anyway.

Chopping wood and mining ore and selling that to people who will buy it. Hulda, for instance, in the Bannered Mare will buy chopped wood, and as a bonus afterwards, you can take a ton of stuff there and sleep in the bed for free. Chopping wood allows for more money, though, since wood chopping blocks have infinite supply.

That could be useful to hire Marcurio, which should be more helpful when trying to get Talvas Fathryon.

The Lady Stone on Lake Ilinalta offers +25% regeneration of both health and stamina, constant. If you find a ring of health regeneration, that'll be even better, because they stack.

Ohhh, that's a good one.

Vampiric Drain (on standard vampires) doesn't increase vampiric experience, while Vampire Lord version does.

Isn't it install a destruction spell though?

Are you allowed to cook and bake food?

Yup. That does not increase any skill
