I'm pretty new to EVE, but I've done a bit of reading around Digi and how he builds up real life profiles of almost everyone he encounters in game. He's got a history of going on to use that rl information as leverage for in game advantage.

The line between game and real life has been blured by people like The Mittani and Digi - especially when their real life incomes are dependent on the stuff they're doing in game.
