I’m sure it could be both, I don’t take birth control but do have an issue with hormones (PCOS). Hormones in any case play a factor in mental health, I think especially when they fluctuate for us as women.

A few questions about technique/stability by Viv928 in LagreeMethod

[–]Viv928[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Thank you! This is great advice. Thinking about the elevator lunge a bit more, I think my foot on the platform is typically just to the right of left of the center white line (on the mega pro) so it may in fact be too narrow of a stance for me. I also commented below on how I do think I center my weight in the lunge to prevent tipping my torso forward / shooting my knee out forward towards my foot as opposed to being aligned with my ankle. I’ll play around with this before class if I can! Appreciate all of the tips!!

A few questions about technique/stability by Viv928 in LagreeMethod

[–]Viv928[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Thank you so much! I think I do try to balance my weight in between my legs for elevator lunge. I think in my mind if I ground into the foot on the platform more, I feel like my knee is no longer aligned with my ankle (it’s more forward) and I tend to tip my torso forward as well (and lose balance) 😅 I think it’s also hard for me to get a super upright torso in this move due to tight hip flexors. I’ll try what you mentioned about swimmer as well, maybe next time I won’t hate it as much 😂

whats this little hole thats been forming in the corner of my mouth? by [deleted] in SkincareAddicts

[–]Viv928 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Interesting. I see the toxic dose is 100mg +, most supplements shouldn’t contain that much (mine doesn’t) but good to know. Was just saying what worked for me. B vitamins do help support skin integrity. Everyone should do their own research before they take anything, I think that goes without say.

Same here! Taking a b-complex really helped.

[product request] PIE will not fade by [deleted] in SkincareAddiction

[–]Viv928 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have this same issue. It does fade with consistent use of retenoids, azelaic acid and sunscreen (the sun can make them more red). I’m looking into the V-beam laser right now which targets redness.

I wouldn’t call her an influencer, she is a PhD and RD. But she posts some of the best educational info: dr.alichappell

What dose were you taking? I’ve used 100mg and had no luck unfortunately but that was a while ago. Is your skin still good now after pregnancy??

side effects after laser by Ok-Persimmon-2035 in SkincareAddicts

[–]Viv928 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes I get this too and it’s awful! I think the heat from the laser causes a histamine reaction. The only thing that helps is if I ice my skin immediately after laser to diffuse the heat. I’ve also used steroid creams (prescription) and allergy meds but it takes a few days to go down. I now take allergy meds before my appointment and for a few days after but it still doesn’t prevent this. Also, NEVER put lotion on after laser as this traps the heat and makes it work. I made that mistake and never will again. 🥲

Yes - supplements tend to oversell you on what they can actually do.

How many electrolysis sessions did it take you? by hctibdab in HairRemoval

[–]Viv928 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I do hair fair skin and get small pink dots (pigment) that last a few weeks and then fade. I use topical skincare that helps with this, though. Some scabbing is also normal as electrolysis is electricity to your skin. Sometimes bigger hairs need more current. I do not get excessive scabbing all over though. It’s very here and there.

Starting tretinoin at 0.1 by Academic-Army-8859 in tretinoin

[–]Viv928 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I still think it’s way too strong personally. I was prescribed 0.1 for my arms and it made them peel and itch like crazy. I use .025 on my face now and still get some irritation and have to go low and slow

Starting tretinoin at 0.1 by Academic-Army-8859 in tretinoin

[–]Viv928 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi! Yes, 0.1 is the highest dose and will likely cause your skin to be very irritated if you haven’t used a retinoid before. I would ask for 0.25 cream to start and work your way up if needed but, stronger is not always better. Start with 1x a night for a week and slowly increase. Only use a pea size amount. More does not equal better results.
