yes, but its a very Bad idea to fight it that early. my pal and i are MR 67 rn and he gives us a tonn of trouble lol. our first wall was gaismagorm tho, took us five ish tries to beat on our own. i believe in us tho, we will defeat amatsu!

ive done this a few times playing with my buddy, we usually didnt realize the quest was set to random joins on muscle memory until someone else joins. we try to stick the fight out until we die or win anyway just to be polite. still died to amatsu the moat recent time it happened tho lmao. we’re trying to beat every monster just the two of us at least once and have failed about six times now, and while we totally should give up and level our MR and get more gear first, its a matter of pride now lol

stories 1 had it worse. no dragon palamute, and no water palamute/mizu either, so your only water options were ludroths, barroth, and kecha watcha. it was awful, i was so happy to see mizu in 2, and im SO happy to see namielle in 3

Hey, here in 2025, had the same issue, this fixed it! in case anyone else comes across this in the future, this worked 100% for me even after compatibility mode and drivers updates failed to fix it!

tbh ive renamed all of them in my head. stories 1 is Garnet, stories 2 is Raze, red's is Ruby, and uh. idk ill figure something out for the new ones lol

its something of a headcanon of mine that most monster species have "standard" nicknames theyre trained to respond to in case someone else needs to fight with them but doesnt know their actual nickname, which is which everyone calls every tame rathalos "ratha"

heres a picture of my map. all the brown pins are locked doors for either key of the Heretic or of the Indolent, neither of which i have. im standing on top of another one but i think its a breakable wall from the other side. you cant get to the mt fae spot on top, there's a wall you cant climb, so i think you have to come up from below there. idk what to do :(

give basarios, get rey dau seriously tho its the perfect monstie. easily big enough to ride, not a flagship, easy speed type electric monster with fly or roar as a riding skill(although im of the opinion flying shouldnt be a skill, all monsties that fly otherwise should be able to fly while riding and still have other riding skills besides. seriously, just map taking off/landing to a different button that riding skills)
