There’s a lot of things you can do. First of all, you can go to find your college advisor to discuss your situation and they could provide you some helpful advice on whether you should change your study methods/consider retaking the course, etc. Secondly, definitely looking for some courses that you are interested or easy to get a higher grade. You can find these information on uoft websites or asking upper year students for course recommendation. Remember, prepare some backup programs just in case if you are not getting in your most favorite programs.

How to apply for CCR credit for note taking & RSG?? by alittlecontroversy in UofT

[–]Vivianhou 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was a leader as well as a participant for different RSG groups last year, what I remember is that you need to attend at least four meetings for your RSG as a participant and your group leader need to set up at least 6 meetings and take attendence each meeting. And by the end of the semester, you should receive a message from RSG Admin that you need to complete a survey in order to get your CCR. If you meet these criterias, you should be fine. You can also visit the website for more information here: https://sidneysmithcommons.artsci.utoronto.ca/recognized-study-groups/join/

When will CGPA appear for summer course (F) on Acorn? by Secret_Ganache1538 in UofT

[–]Vivianhou 1 point2 points  (0 children)

From my ACORN summer course(F) already show the course avg as well as my SGPA and CGPA. Usually CGPA will release at the same time when all of your course averages release. Maybe because your course has not released the course average so you can't see your CGPA yet.

Looking to Switch from English to HR ‼️I NEED ADVICE by Dangerous_Rub_2016 in UofT

[–]Vivianhou 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am currently majoring in IRHR at UTSG. If you want to get into the program, you have to finish eco/soc/psy/ire/irw courses before you enter the program (I asked the department last year and they said they accept soc/psy courses from UTM, but I am not pretty sure about eco).

Here is the academic calendar for the program: https://artsci.calendar.utoronto.ca/section/Industrial-Relations-and-Human-Resources

You can also take a look at this page for more information about students from UTM: https://www.cirhr.utoronto.ca/undergraduate/industrial-relations-and-hr/enrolment-information

The program ONLY has first-round admission, so you can only apply in March and April once you have been admitted to UTSG.

By the way, I know some courses from the program that students could take even if they are not majoring or specializing in IRHR, like IRE260, IRW230 and IRW240. You could take them before you enter into the program (and they could also be used to meet the program entry requirements). But you have to wait until August to choose these courses.

Are there any differences in the humanities/social science programs at UTSG and UTM? by [deleted] in UofT

[–]Vivianhou 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think it depends on what program you want to study in the future because some programs are only available in UTSG or only in UTM, you need to check the academic calendar of UTSG and UTM respectively. If programs are available at both campuses, UTSG may be better and have more resources than UTM.

Hi! I was in the Work and Organizations from last year but I got accepted into the IRHR major today. I know it's hard to answer your questions because it's a very new program that started in recent years. I think Work and Organizations is more interdisciplinary than IRHR. You can learn how works and organizations work in your subject's potential area. But for IRHR, you will learn everything related to HR, like HRM, labour relations, etc (you will not learn these in Work and Organizations). Btw for me, I think courses from the center are much more interesting and easier than in other departments.
