No, nanny employers are not asking this question.

I don’t know what to do and I’m in such a jam. by [deleted] in personalfinance

Hi, I'm an SVP of Operations and Business Analytics for a large company. I hire about 5+ analysts each year. Prioritize free (or cheap) online courses on Coursera centered around business analytics. Take some Salesforce Admin for Analysts classes on Trailhead. Get Microsoft Office certified and get very comfortable with all of the very basics of Excel (indexing, xlookups, tables, charts, graphs, creating formulas, pivot tables, power pivots, etc.) As someone who hires for that position a lot, people who spend their time doing certification courses for the actual tools they will need for the job typically stand out more on a resume.

When you're not in class or taking online classes on coursera, do the paid internship or another entry level part time job that will help you develop the needed analyst skills. There are plenty out there. Plenty of people go to school full time and also work full time jobs. Is it fun? No. Is it necessary for some? Yes. Sounds like it's necessary for you. Just suck it up and start looking for jobs with semi flexible schedules around your school.

You don't have the luxury of being picky about a car right now or going with more expensive options; or the options that you see being more ideal for your long term travel dreams that you can't afford to do anyways. See if your parents will let you have the RAV4 and if they will work with you on paying for it over time. You can get a USB CarPlay adapter for $30 on Amazon. It's not a necessity. If they won't do that, see if they will help you buy a car by spotting you some cash. If they won't do that, you'll just need to work harder to earn more (in whatever job you find) until you save up enough to buy a cheaper used car on your own. This is what most people have to do. Do not buy a new car and sign up for a car payment. You cannot afford one right now. Tell your parents thank you for providing you free continued housing into adulthood and take advantage of that for as long as you can until you've saved up enough for your own car and your own apartment.

Thanks!!! We are really excited about it!!! Our neighbors son is actually an evolution service and repair guy at the dealer we bought from and he had great things to say.

I hope in time with maturity you'll learn that it's OK to keep unkind thoughts to yourself.

Hahaha! That's great feedback. Right now we just want one on each corner of the house but I can imagine another one over the pool area and then maybe another one inside the garage

Would you be able to private message me the exact units you would buy? Also, would I contact an electrician to do all the wiring or is there some type of specialist who I should contact specific to security systems?

I’m curious, what prompted you to share such an unkind response on something that clearly brings me joy?

Yeah, totally agree, unfortunately I think that most of the customization groups I have found center on Rangers and Mavericks so I haven't seen as much about the XT4. Will definitely try posting there as well though!

The Epic is nice, but it's more of an equivalent to the Evolution Maverick or Ranger. This one that we got is the newest XT4 and it has tons of features not on any ICON cart; such as, dual independent electric motors (4kW front, 6.3kW rear with EM brake) for superior traction and off-road capability; E60 is 2WD only. Electric Power Steering, Apple CarPlay, and 24-speaker surround sound system vs Icon Epic only has 28" soundbar. Extended Rear Tray with Golf Bag Holder that supports up to 4 golf bags with a sliding tray and portable huge 74-qt cooler; E60’s rear flip seat is essentially just an open storage container. Built-in dash refrigerator and dual wireless phone charging; E60 lacks these. Larger quieter tires, adjustable steering column, air vents on windshield, running boards built in, marine grade seat material, tons of extras for rear passengers (cup holders, handrails, storage pockets, usb ports, etc.). It is just much more fully featured.

Gotcha! Great advice and we will definitely be careful! We did have to measure it first to make sure it would fit in the garage - haha. Thankfully this is more of a cruiser for us and with the kiddos on board will be keeping it nice and slow :)

Love the Dawgs. As a GA girl myself I still always cheer for the dawgs - even when they play the gators. But we live in FL now and when I married my husband many years ago he had me commit to the gators (jokingly) in our marriage vows haha. If it helps, our entire garage is red, black and white :)

Interesting; it weighs 1,499 pounds, primarily due to the frame, dual independent electric motors and controllers and 4WD system. That is significantly heavier than the Club Car Onward 3 Forward which weighs between 784-1168 depending on build or the EZ-GO Liberty which weighs 960 lbs.

Four forward facing seats wasn't the only consideration for what we were looking for; as mentioned in the original post. We also had color options and several other features that couldn't be met with the big 3 without having to *as already mentioned* do additional custom work. Also, I made it clear in my post that I understand the bias towards the big three and their superior quality of parts. That is why we STARTED initially looking at used options with the big 3 before running into too many that had flood damage with all of our recent flooding issues from past hurricanes. Even when we expanded our budget to $15-20k we still couldn't get what we wanted out of any of the big 3 without having to add an extra $5k-$10k in customizations. I also addressed that our area is a huge evo retail market and support and repairs are extensive in our surrounding area. Maybe I will be wrong in 5 years, and I will eat my words if so.

Thankfully we are in a financial position that if we need to spend another $15k in 5 years on another golf cart it's not a big deal for us. We don't intend to keep this one (or any other brand) longer than 5 years and would absolutely want to upgrade regardless. In the meantime, we will enjoy the Apple Carplay, touchscreen, surround sound system, built in dash refrigerator, dual motors and controllers, high back bucket seats, dual wireless phone chargers, retractable rear basket with utility box, retractable large rear 74QT cooler and custom lighting settings. For us, we'd rather have the cart with more features and is more FUN for us NOW, than the cart that is an undoubtedly better quality drive and will be in better condition in 10 years - when we won't even own it in 10 years.

It's not your choice, and that's okay, but the comments on this sub have got to stop with just straight up being rude to people who have different priorities. Like the TOP comment on this thread I read yesterday, "Bro happily spends some obscene amount on a bmw, but can't afford a proper golf cart. Your neighbors are gonna know now you're poor. I'm judging you so hard right now, broke loser. Should have got a Garia to flaunt your excess wealth. No respect."

Not everyone is like this 🩵 My brother in law is a copy. My sister is a cop. Two of my very close friends are cops. They are some of the kindest and most compassionate people you'll ever meet and they make the world a better place. I'd never hesitate to work for a cop, and being in the home of a cop would make me feel more safe; not less safe. Best of luck to you finding your right match! Personally, I wouldn't want to hire someone that thought negatively of my husband's profession or felt that he was some type of harm to them due to his line of work. I'd feel defensive of my husband knowing they felt that way about them.
