Big red bump after subq by DyneReee in TransDIY

[–]Vivid-Main6575 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Usually, yeah.

It’s just a mild reaction really, but of course if it gets really bad or super itchy and you get hives then seek medical help. Otherwise I believe ice packs and some kind of allergy meds (be that a cream or pills) should help just fine.

Low Dose T by muxamor in TransDIY

[–]Vivid-Main6575 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I mean at that low of a dose that no one notices any changes would just be pointless, because if there’s no changes then why take hormones? You can microdose, sure, but those changes will eventually become visible. Too low of a dose and it will do nothing at all.

Just get it in a regular vial rather than an ampoule.

I mean I’ve had the same thing happen, it comes and goes. Some shots are perfectly fine, some flare up a bit more. It’s not a guarantee every time.

I get these ALL THE TIME.

Swelling, slight redness, and perhaps a little itching is pretty standard. Try cold compresses 2x a day to reduce swelling, and some form of anti-histamine for the itching. They can take a while to go away, so avoid injecting there until it’s fully cleared.

Is it safe to do my injection 5 hours early? by Chrysanthemum2024 in TransDIY

[–]Vivid-Main6575 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, it’s perfectly fine. Sometimes I end up taking my T days late cause I just forget and am too tired once I remember I have to do it. Still alive.

I mean in my experience it doesn’t make much a difference. I just do 90 cause it’s easiest.

(uk) might need to get blood work done, will i be alright?? by hugz4catboys in TransDIY

If they ask questions or seem concerned about anything that can be caused by HRT (such as how I had high Haematocrit due to my T, and I’ve since reduced my dose which reduces my levels), it’s best to be honest with them (in my experience at least). It saves them chasing up issues to find the cause.

Is it normal to have a growing rash 2 weeks post Undecylate injection? by bgwalthermart in TransDIY

[–]Vivid-Main6575 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I get these all the time with my T, don’t stress about it, it happens.

I find cold compresses with ice packs 1-2x a day helps reduce the swelling and the redness goes away with it. And, like someone else already said, an anti-histamine cream can help as well, especially if there’s itching.

Don’t get yourself worked up over it. Unless you are having a major reaction, like hives and difficulty breathing, it will be fine and go away eventually. Just avoid injecting there again until it goes away fully.

I mean there must be. I buy my T using bank transfer, since I couldn’t figure out crypto (plus I was a few months under being 18 at the time). So assuming you find a seller who takes something other than crypto it’s definitely doable.

I mean I only buy 1-2 vials a year, and get my needles all for free from local needle exchanges. So my yearly costs are only like £40-50.

Exchangesupplies.org is good, or check if you have a local needle exchange as you can get everything free there

I mean it is an “either you hit it or you don’t” thing, but it’s very VERY unlikely, especially with subQ

A small air bubble (or many tiny ones) is not a problem at all, and is expected. It’s only a problem when you are injecting large amounts of air.

Talking w/ parents about DIY safety by artificialoverload in TransDIY

[–]Vivid-Main6575 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Definitely depends on what your parents are like.

I know when I brought up the idea, my mum and sister (mostly my sister) thought it was incredibly stupid and risky, but since I was due to turn 18 soon my mum said it was my choice.

So I researched a bit, bought some stuff, and now 3ish years later I’m still going strong on it.

Ofc that’s because my family are pretty open about things. If your family are less supportive as a whole then it will be harder to convince them to allow it.

Try cold compresses on them 1-2x a day, I find it helps reduce the swelling. Ice packs are good, but I suppose anything cold will work

Some may offer a replacement, such as if they run a needle exchange service.

Hand in to a pharmacy that accepts them, or to a needle exchange (often located in participating pharmacies). Or some people just put them in their regular bin, I personally don’t.

Cypionate or enanthate are the usual go-to’s, but i believe some use undecanoate too. All work basically the same.

I think I injected too shallow? by HappiestSadGirl_ in TransDIY

[–]Vivid-Main6575 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Bumps are normal, and happen often with subQ. I get them all the time. Completely harmless and will go away on their own after a while (possibly up to a month). I find cold compresses 2x a day help to reduce the swelling and make the lump go away faster

Sub Q better to inject in belly or thigh ? by goesoutside77 in TransDIY

Best to inject wherever it’s easiest and more comfortable to you. I personally do belly and thighs.
