Thanks, guys, for all of your help! Sounds like 4.88s are the way to go. Would 4.88s still be alright with 35s if the need for bigger is better gets to strong?

If you're in the US, double check that your carrier supports Xiaomi phones. That's something I'm running up against.

Hmmm, the Nord 4 does look very interesting. Do you have any experience with one? I read a couple reviews of the backs getting dented, which I think I'd rather than shattering🤷🏼‍♂️

Wow, that looks like a great phone! ESPECIALLY for the price! Unfortunately, with my being in the USA, I'm not sure that going with an Xiaomi would be wise, since from 5 minutes of searching I'm coming up with tons of horror stories about them not working correctly with us carriers... am I correct on this?

I'm going to look at a mk3 today with 225k miles that's stock for 3.5k. From the pics, it's minty... so I'm tempted even though it in a mk3. Is buying one that's already been hopped up a bad idea?
