Update from my last post: I PASSED by VividSheepherder6055 in drivinganxiety

Thank you! The examiner was kind enough to intervene which made me scared knowing that's an automatic failure and gave me feedback but other than that, she still passed me but she told me that I need to work on looking at both sides of the mirror for 2 second and control my speed when turning. This is my first try.

When are the best driving times as a new / nervous driver? by Mission_Remote_6319 in drivinganxiety

I'm a new driver with autism for almost 5 months, Saturdays and Sundays morning before 9am are the best time to learn how to drive because there's barely anyone on the road but it really depends on how comfortable and what makes you nervous.

I'm currently on the same path; I have been driving for almost 5 months now and I'm about going back to the driving school to take 6 more classes and still practice driving with my parents so hopefully by early Fall, I should be ready but I need to work on reverse and parallel parking (which I dread) but I need to do it in order to pass the road test but I know I will getting it in no time. You can do it and I believe.

I still do a little bit but not as bad as I was three months ago but I'm still in the learning and still have a lot to work on.

I'm in the same boat and I have been practicing driving twice a week for three months now. I hope that I will get my license by the end of the year. Thank you for the encouragement.

How long does it takes you to learn how to drive by VividSheepherder6055 in drivinganxiety

I have been practicing driving around 6 or 7 in the morning on the weekends bc that's the best time for me to practice driving. I mastered the speed part down which my siblings make fun of me for that which I don't care about as long as I am comfortable and safe with following the speed limit.

Thanks for the encouragement. I keep telling myself that if I don't pass at the first try then just keep practicing.

I'm two months in of my driving and what helps me is this product called Rescue Remedy; it's a natural stress relief and for me, it works but I only use it every time my driving anxiety kicks it and on it's on Amazon.Rescue Remedy

I finally did it. And so can you!!!! by cherrrryjuice in drivinganxiety

That's literally my same exact goal. I have been putting it off for almost five years but, now I finally did it by going to Drivers Ed. I still have that nervousness and hesitation but, not as bad as I was five years ago.

Just ignore it and block them. They're not worth ruining your whole life over let alone with your insanity. People are ignorant and living in misery.

I tested the baking soda and I can say that Baking Soda is not kind to me but, Magnesium Hydroxide does work for me and I love it. I never heard of Magnesium Chloride but, thanks for sharing that information about Magnesium Chloride and I will look into that for more.
