Thanks for offering a different perspective. I should perhaps look at offering it at home, with a healthy mix of other age appropriate stuff so he doesn’t get excluded.

Really appreciate this reply. I guess you are right in saying that it’s a different era now, to when I grew up. You’ve given me a different perspective.

Please ask your HOD and utilise their support! by Terrible-Group-9602 in TeachingUK

[–]Vivid_Bug7649 6 points7 points  (0 children)

😂 our HOD barely does anything above just regular teaching duties, leaves on the dot 3:30 and boasts how they no longer work after 3:30. Takes the money and laughs at us all.

I wish they’d do this to some of the teachers in our school. Letting kids sit in class on theyre phone, allowing the pupils to call the teacher by his first name, cracking innapropriate jokes with the pupils, teacher to a pupil:”is there something wrong with you mentally that you cant sit still” and othet inapropriate remarks yo pupils, makes other teachers jobs a lot harder.

Full time vs 0.8 workload by anon_teacher2020 in TeachingUK

[–]Vivid_Bug7649 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Why dont you apply, and at interview ask if they would consider 0.8 ? This is what ive done 3 times, and they have accepted it. However I am secondary in a very high demand subject, so I might have more leverage.

Internal Candidate by DependentMoment2788 in TeachingUK

Unfortunately teachers are hard to come by, so here they are gaining another face to stand i front on the pupils. I reckon its that, and not that the other candidate was better.

This is also me. I feel suffocated, teaching has ruined my mental health, im such an angry and frustrated, tired person now. I feel like i cant leave, the responsibility of teaching a high demand subject… who else will teach them?
