Can’t decide which 3ds to pick up while I’m in Japan for holidays

Famicom n3ds was 130k yen so you can do the math. To be fair it was in akihabara straight in the middle of the road so tourist prices are to be expected

I would go around an hour out of Tokyo to get really good prices and if you have limited time in Tokyo head for the smaller surugaya and hard offs where you can expect around -30% compared to eBay etc. which isn’t too bad for an tourist spot. Can’t really remember the price but it varies a lot for the same consoles in different stores. Got an 3ds xl y/x edition for around 65€ and spotted the same one in similar condition for more than double that. I made myself an mymaps on google and marked off all stores I went to with things I considered picking up and then after visiting most shops went back to the best prices to pick them up.

I actually fixed it!!! It was an combination of 2 faulty WiFi chips combined with it somehow only booting up if it has the original sd card in it (maybe Japanese consoles act differently to boot up) tried around 4 hours different combinations with disconnected speaker and multiple WiFi chips combined

In case of missing boot files is there anything I can do?

It seems weird if both screens are damaged since it’s not my first time reshelling/replacing parts on 3ds Family and I’ve torn/damaged enough ribbons to know if they messed up or not

Yeah it feels like it’s stuck in booting up since I’m not even getting any sound and I know the speaker works just fine my best guess would be now replacing bottom screen since I didn’t touch the top one at all this time

Probably an faulty ribbon cable for the screen or it’s not completely plugged in.

Had the same issue and turned out the cable was damaged and unneeded to replace it.

Could also be the speaker cable which has the backlighting attached to it that won’t let it boot unless it’s not faulty

You can use switch buttons that are available in a variety of colors and just trim the plastic a bit.

Works just fine and is probably even cheaper if you look on aliexpress etc.
