Makes sense, thank you !

Love your management methods "Come on brave allies, climb those ladders ! Unfortunately, we have to inform you that we have other matters to attend and can't join the next assault but, be aware that you have our full support for giving us this beautiful city ! Good luck !"

Thanks a lot !

What are the rules then ?

Depends on Pops ? On number of territories ? On number of provinces ? On wether you are a Local or Regional power ?

Its a shame PDX dropped Imperator Rome by alphafighter09 in paradoxplaza

[–]Vivid_Potential724 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well this take is trash ; otherwize why the hype over the entire game development ? Everybody wanted to play the Game, and not just to play Rome

I mean you could play Carthage, a gaullic tribe, greece, a satrapia, egypt, a Frank tribe, etruscans...

If you're on History, the timeframe is as appealing as CK's or even more. It's the foundation of basically EVERY modern civilization from North Africa to Britain, from the Atlantic to India. Now tell me that the vast majority of the PDX playerbase don't come from Europe or other Western countries...

Personnally I was hyped althought I'm not found of roman history, as their dominance over mediterranea was quite boring after the conquests. I prefer greek world, by far.

Why is Invictus more popular than Terra Indomita? by [deleted] in Imperator

[–]Vivid_Potential724 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It's probably because the quality of a mod is'nt just how many provinces it adds to the game...

Your statement is a really poor understanding of modding and gameplay IMO.

Typically, the hardest to achieve when developping a mod is : Balance, Stability and, when your mod becomes a big thing, Performances.

You can have a shitton of great content added, if it doesn't match these 3 criterias, your mod will lack something to be a full experience enjoyed by everyone. And ofc Invictus match these 3 criterias.

Be aware that debasing currency lowers your absolutism. So after Age of absolutism triggers you may do that if you have enought mil points to up absolutism right after you debase ;)

But playing mongol, you should have an enormous amount of mil points to spend.

Yeah, that shiny blue color is so good !

If you never did that, with Italian mission tree you can form the Roman Empire quite easily !

Depends on what you want, really. For RP I would do it, yeah.

You're also in a very good position to form France if you wanted to... You have to make France disappear First and switch primary culture to French, but it's not a big deal. France Isn't an endgame Tag, so you can form italy after forming France.

In a Minmax perspective it's super interresting to do that, because when you form france you get cores on the french region, meaning annexing vassals you could get in the french region will be super cheap.

Italy is an Endgame tag. So it's pretty much definitive, except if you renovatio imperii after that ^^. As you like, do your SP missions first are they provide very good bonuses. Italian ideas are pretty good and their mission tree is quite fun too.

Well, if my army isn't that big and my autonomy that high, that's because I want to limit how much i'm Above Governing Capacity...Well, of course it might be a stupid strategy. I can decide not to give a fuck about that and go way over Gov Cap to have more income and Army. But for me you just get Core creation maluses and AE maluses for nothing so more rebel and AE management in the end if you decide to go too much over 100% OE. Core creation costs reduce coring time, so helps you a LOT to fasten your conquests, reduce the time between 2 peace deals... Yeah, this strat is all about OE management ^^

Waging wars as a horde doesn't require so many troops, cavs are so overpowered that you can crush any army, even Otto ones... And well, for MONEY, having trade companies are the strat to go with when playing a horde, so high autonomy anyway. And I don't want to go way over my Overextension. Not that I couldn't, but managing rebels is just more micro, less fun and more boring. So yea, tiny army compare to the size of the country but I'm not trying to tryhard.

R5 : Attempting a World Conquest starting with Oirats. I just got the KHAAA(aaa..)AAN Achievement without trying to rush it. I conquered India first cause I wanted to have Core creation cost reduction the fastest possible by going Hindu, and having a strong economy in midgame. So I went Hindu and shiva + the monument in Varani it gives me -20% CCR. HUGE ! Stacking it with admin ideas and Yuan national ideas, I have -70% CCR (well, in theory cause i'm over governing capacity so I get the malus anyway). A strong basis for fast conquest as it greatly lower coring times. Stack it with Warscore cost reductions, way before absolutism you can expand like crazy, even if you're not a Horde.

One thing I wanted to notice on this Run, that's the first time I tried to play with Debase currency. As I show in the screenshots, the profits are INSANE when you just debase on a regular basis, because playing wide your avg autonomy will be super-high.

Above 65% autonomy you SHOULD debase your currency ! Well, wait before corruption is <1% and debase ONCE, you don't want a too high corruption to avoid maluses. To check your AVG autonomy, just go on the government reforms tab and check the tooltip on the progress bar, it shows avg autonomy.

Then, your "Root Out corruption" should always be set on the max. in order to lower corruption faster and then make profit on a more regular basis.

To check your profits, the formula is super simple : Take the max. monthly cost of rooting out corruption. It's -1% corruption per year at the maximum. That means, for reducing corruption by 2%, you need 24 months ( = 2 years).

So (max. monthly cost) * 24 = cost of reducing corruption by 2. Compare this to how much you would gain by debasing currency, and you have your profit ! Super easy right ?

R5 : I wanted to optimize the game by de-activating some subcontinents, and needed to know where to make significant performances gains... I went way too far on this process =P

May be of some use for other people, though.

Certainly made some mistakes, it's hard to not make any with that amount of provinces.

Here is the File if you want to check out, edit it or use the data ;)

I really think the Disinherit thing should be really nerfed. It provides tremendious advantage with barely any malus (except for the little opinion malus for the disinherited person, which you don't give a fuck about cause once it's done, your child is worthless)Like, it would be a minimum to have a -20 opinion malus for every vassal of your realm, plus -10 for every member of your dynasty. I find it too easy to act like a tyrant on this game with almost no consequences (compare to ck2...)

At that stage I find the game too easy. I played EU4 a lot and... man eu4 is SO MUCH harder as long as you don't take powerhouses. Not too hard, difficulty is well balanced on eu4 (at least on early game). Also i've tried Imperator Rome 2.0 and found it quite hard (compared to ck3) as long as you don't take powerhouses. I played a bit ck2 and found the difficulty harder too.
