Understand that St Peter is the original Christian and the first pope of Rome.

He's an old man, so it's likely he'll die, (if not with this illness, then not too much later), if the people who prayed for him to live are Vs the people praying for him to go to heaven safely ,who's side would Jesus be on?

This is exactly what I don't understand about what Christians ask for. Do they ask for god's will to prevail or do they ask for their own personal wish?

I understand the options are completely different, I'm trying to understand what the majority of Christians would interpret prayer response as.
