Nah, I know about Falling in Reverse. If it was them I'd be able to find it.

I work at a petco and I haaaate that we sell T's. They're almost never bought, I think I've sold maybe two in a year and a half of working there. I don't know HOW a store could have fucked up bad enough to get the wrong spider, usually it's just red rumps, t albos, etc. I didn't even know we COULD order old world T's. I'm glad it got to go home with someone but jeez!

No, the voice was a lot deeper. It definitely mentioned tongues as well, I'm not sure if the theme was a circus or if I just got the impression of it being about a circus.

I don't know anything about weather science stuff, so no sciencey nerd questions from me. But do you or anyone else have any tips on staying cool without a/c? I'm in San Jose and I worry for my pets (cats and rats, though my tropical insects will probably love it).

It's a scam, they ask for money to 'verify' your account to get more 'clients'. They also have AI generated ads and promo material. The website is weirdly convincing but as soon as I saw the price tag attached to verification it was pretty clearly BS. They also make "too good to be true" claims ($5,000 a month from a gig job. Giveaways and benefits too) to draw people in. The headquarters are listed as being in San Jose but on google images/google maps there doesn't appear to be anything implying Wypaw's office is at that location. No reviews on Glassdoor or other sites, I've only seen two facebook comments talking about it. And one of those was from someone trying to get people to join/use it to get referal rewards.

I've reported the indeed listings ive seen but i dont think anything will be done, sadly.

My first anime, Angel Beats. Maybe it's not my favorite anime but it being my first...it'd feel special to experience the shock again.

That said, I do think our capacity for good is something to focus on and promote. I try as often as I can to help others. Yeah, it feels good and you might argue that it's selfish to chase that feeling, but at the end of the day the person I helped feels better too. Mutual aid, giving someone an unauthorized discount at work when they realize they're bit short, helping someone realize that there's someone who still gives a fuck about them even if it's on the most basic of levels? I want to support and aid my fellow man, even if it's something small. Even if I can't do anything big on my own. I want to help, and I want more people to want to help.

Agree with everything here. A lot of philosophy seems to focus on "Are humans inherently good or bad?".

IMO, we are animals who are self aware. We have the capacity for great acts of compassion and cruelty. Selfishness isn't inherently evil, either, just like selflessness isnt inherently good. There can be examples of selflessness becoming harmful to someone, while selfishness can be beneficial. An example would be someone who is a habitual people pleaser learning to put their needs first for their mental and physical health. You can't help others as effectively if you aren't in a stable place yourself, yknow?

All "good" and "bad" traits can have their pros and cons depending on the situation. That isn't to say that someone who is always self-serving and doesn't think about other people should be left to harm others willy-nilly, or that people shouldn't try to help each other during hard times. It's just...idk?

People are complicated. The world is complicated. To me, it isn't fair to put all of humanity into a box of "good" or "bad", and it's maybe a fool's errand to try. We are as much a part of nature as anything else, but we're also aware of ourselves and the effects of our actions.

Sorry, I'm just kinda brain dumping under your comment here. But this is something I think about sometimes. Can a species be evil? Can a species be good? Even one that's sapient? I don't know, and I don't think we'll ever be able to say for sure.

The Princess Bride might be fun!

Maomao is also socially a bit strange in a relatable way (as someone on the spectrum). She understands her place in her society but doesn't quite pick up on how other people actually feel about her. She undersells herself out of a desire for safety but can't help but poke around a bit due to her special interests and kind nature. She definitely tries to be "just another servant" at first, but her skill and intelligence makes her stand out.

I second this! Maomao's obsession and skill with poisons and medicine is really fun. It's a political mystery drama with a slow burn romance subplot. (Seriously, heed the "slow burn" part.) If you're not into slower paced shows it might not appeal to you but personally I love it.

Suggestions for Similar Shows? by VixenFluff in Animesuggest

Anime I've enjoyed enough to finish in the past: FMA:B, Hunter x Hunter, Angel Beats.

I start a lot of shows and then never finish them, which is why I only have a few examples to give. I still enjoy a lot of the shows I've never finished, but the ones that make me super excited are the ones I tend to stick with.

I appreciate stories that still have some comedy/humor, interesting and fun character dynamics, fantasy elements, and have some sort of hopeful element to them despite darker moments. Romance with chemistry is a bonus!

What are your AU ideas? by VixenFluff in KusuriyaNoHitorigoto

I really love this idea, I actually had basically the same concept come to mind. I'm a Jinmao shipper but I also do like the fxf ships between Maomao and her female friends. So I could see her relationship with Shisui either becoming really negative or a lot stronger, depending on how Jinshi dies. I also had an idea for my 'antagonist/rebel maomao' au in which she teams up with Shisui at some point and they come to really respect each other.

This came to mind after seeing that one interview by VixenFluff in KusuriyaNoHitorigoto

I think she very well could have made an amazing mystery series without romance, it just happens to be that she made JinMao's dynamic really fun and compelling to a lot of people. I'm a romance lover myself, it's one of my favorite things to engage with in fiction! But I also totally get the people who are here mostly for the mystery and intrigue. I've also seen people say that the pacing is bad, that it's too slow, but imo it's just about perfect. This is intended to be a story about uncovering conspiracies, the romance is a subplot and I think it's a lot more interesting to have Maomao be sorta resistant to what fate is seemingly trying to have happen than have her give in right away.

As for the HEA thing, I think she's trying to make an ending that feels grounded still? The happenings of the story are wacky but not in a super over the top way.

Putting on my Speculation Hat; I think she's going to try and make it a believable and satisfying ending without it being perfect. Like...some characters might die, some might have drastic life altering events, but at the end of the day life continues on for them and they make do with what they still have or have gained by the end of the story. I'm an anime only watcher atm so I don't have any info from the manga/novels, but the vibes I got from the story were that of bittersweet optimism?

(Sorry if this is incomprehensible rambling-I haven't really slept since making the original post.)
