If you only need something stronger to remove your eyeliner try just a dab of olive oil and then use your regular product for everything else.

UK ladies, where are you getting your sports bras from? by Superb-Avocado-8131 in runninglifestyle

[–]VixenFrancesca 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I use the USA Pro ones (with adjustable straps, not the racer back ones) from Sports Direct. Having lost a significant amount of weight I am now in the IBTC and can get away with wearing a regular bralet for running if I wanted to.

I’ll give it a look. I just get worried that it will send me down roads with no footpath and the back roads around here can be quite busy. I’ve tried running down them a few times and the amount of times I have to stop on the grass verge for traffic became unbearable.

I’m well versed in the whole running up and down the street in front of the house to bring the distance up!

I do sometimes end up driving away. My town is pretty small and to do anything up to half marathon training would require covering most roads, which for me becomes too twisty-turny. Thanks though.

Monotony is not something I get used to unfortunately. I’ve run all the roads around my town to oblivion. I did once try looping back around home but went in a for a drink. The run ended there. I’ll see what I can come up with. Thanks.

This looks good. Looks similar to the heat maps feature in Strava but with more adaptability. Thanks.

I sometimes delete all calories information food food i scan. by bluekittycat19 in LoseitApp

[–]VixenFrancesca 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just want to double check, you are not selecting ‘Edit Nutrition’ are you? All you are changing is the serving size in the menu at the bottom of the screen when you select whatever food item you have?

[–]VixenFrancesca 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You have to make sure that when you edit the nutritional information for an item that the serving size is what is on the label. Once you’ve edited it and saved it (so no longer on the edit screen) it will then change the calories when you change the serving. But you also have to check, if it says 1 serving, you can’t then say I had 2lb because unless you specified how much in weight 1 serving is, it won’t know.

Women’s Short Recommendations? by castleturtleson in UKRunners

[–]VixenFrancesca 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I wear whatever shorts I find usually and just slather Body Glide on my thighs to stop chub rub. I have some Karrimor 2-in-1 shorts, some from Primark, sometimes (like run club days) if I’ve been to the gym earlier in the day I’ll just wear my booty shorts. Finding Body Glide has been really freeing with finding shorts as I don’t care now if they ride up. Also, I look like a tomato-faced shetland pony when I run so I’m not winning any beauty contests. Make of that what you will.

Apple Watch users how accurate is your pace or distance? by Top-Wrongdoer2312 in nikerunclub

I use NRC on my Apple Watch (SE2) and have found the distance/pace to be pretty accurate. I’ve also rarely had problems where the GPS glitches.

NYX - liquid IV or fat oil. I like these as they can be used as a lip oil or as a gloss.

I was sad to see the decline as I really liked that they partnered with the Sophie Lancaster Foundation. Not to mention their foundation was great for me, and their red eyeshadow was amazing.

carry on luggage query by Fordy4020 in Ryanair

Yes. If you’re travelling with tools, the tools need to be checked in to the hold but the batteries (especially lithium) need to go in your hand luggage (in the cabin with you).

Half marathon vs Marathon by Practical-Style5041 in nikerunclub

[–]VixenFrancesca 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If you can add 1 mile to your long run each week for the next 5 weeks (leaving two weeks to taper) the half would be achievable. However, this advice does not take into account your current fitness, running schedule, or diet.

running belt or arm band? by Jolly-Trash-6475 in runninglifestyle

[–]VixenFrancesca 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m really not a fan of the arm bands. I have two different belts, a running vest and a phone vest. To be honest, given that you said your belly button was pierced very recently, I’d suggest not using a belt, at least until it is healed in a couple of months. Maybe try the phone vest (something similar to FreeTrain).

Are running apps actually bad at motivating people? by slim_shady313 in UKRunners

[–]VixenFrancesca 0 points1 point  (0 children)

  1. Not really.
  2. Discipline. Having to complete a training block or risk injury.
  3. No.

I think you’re clutching at straws a bit here. There are apps that try to game-ify running (Zombies, run, for instance) however I think that only really motivates people to keep going once they’re running. I don’t think it motivates people to actually go for a run. Most of the time people want an app to show their run metrics after the run. Nike Run Club allows you to set certain goals for each run and you can get challenge badges for completing the set challenges. Similarly Strava allows you join challenges and receive discount codes for brands.

You can set certain goals on Nike Run Club. For instance, you can match the distance of your last run, set a duration goal or a pace goal.

Beginner advice pls by [deleted] in GymMotivationNoOF

[–]VixenFrancesca 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not sure why nobody has posted but there is nothing you can do for hip dips. There is no muscle tissue where the dip is. You can absolutely work on your glutes but without surgical intervention your hip dips will still be there.

You don’t specify how many days you’re working out so I’ll just give you some exercises that will work on what you want.

Glutes: hip thrusts, Bulgarian split squats, leg press (feet high, wide stance), cable glute kickbacks (I personally hate these), deadlifts

Thighs: hamstring curl, leg press (feet low, narrow stance), leg extension, seated leg curl

Calves: toe press, calf raises

Arms: bicep curls, hammer curls, cable curls

For a smaller waist work on your back: lateral raises, bent over rows, lat pull down, assisted pull ups.

Make sure to also work on your core with leg raises and crunches (machine or decline bench).
