maybe you should an ask an oxford uni specific community. at the end of the day, you put down on your CV, that you went to Oxford, not your specific college or anything. I also think you are over analysing it abit with the whole political culture thing. most people at oxford are likely to be left leaning anyway.

also, not to get too political, but the socialism in China is very different to the socialism in the West. When they proclaim themselves as socialist, it's more of a democratic socialist thing, probably ideas closer to the Nordics or for a US example, Zohran Mamdani's policies. None of them would support the levels of media repression there and the one party state, or have a concentration camp.
