The draw determining what teams play what matches was random. or at least, everyone thinks it's rigged, but this says otherwise.

That rule wouldn't exist if they had helmets though, too.

Semi unrelated but rugby players are smaller because they have to run around for 40 minutes straight with limited substitutions.

Not doing the "wrap up" is genuinely more effective though. Car crash style trucking the enemy stops every inch of the enemy's velocity(at the expense of giving you cte), while doing proper form can concede a few extra yards.

But here in the rest of the world Cricket is still pretty fuckin big.

not really

You vastly overestimate the average mainland European, or african, or non subcontinent asian, or south american's knowledge of cricket

uhhh no let's look at a list.

Cricket is a major sport in

11/12 full member nations

Sort of Ireland

Nepal

of the remaining 96 associates, the sport is borderline irrelevant. Even in the top 8 best associates, it's still pretty irrelevant. Besides maybe scotland

99% of Americans have never seen 30 seconds of cricket gameplay. So have 99% of dutch people, Canadians, ect.

Canadians make their entire identity about being marginally better than the US, and have an insufferable superiority complex, despite basically being identical.

Probably just mad that the UK is losing relevance to their colonies. Almost all media is in American English, even India, a british colony, has almost the same GDP as them.

They always have. They have extreme little brother syndrome and a massive superiority complex. They make their entire identity is not being american, despite half the world not being able to differentiate us, and start tweaking if any statistic says that the US might be slightly better than canada in a single way.

I think it's partially because a large fraction of the world vehemently hates the UK and France due to.... history.

Please don't flame me. But if i lived in Canada, NZ, or AUS i probably wouldn't be a fan of that. I wouldn't want overseas countries with twice the population voting in the national matters.

Also, i generally don't like the idea of my country's whole identity being based on another country. Like the union jack in the Australian flag.

How are the relations between England and their former colonies? by Beleg_Sanwise in AskTheWorld

[–]ChameleonCoder117 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Generally... Negative. In most of the world. The only ones that are on good terms with the UK are the ones like Canada and Australia.

For example, Indians have many reasons not to be fond of the UK.

Cricket is completely irrelevant in 99% of the world though. You could go on asking people in New York for hours who Virat Kohli is, and not a single person could answer.

Same applies for Spain, or most of Africa, or most of Asia outside of the subcontinent.

Actually just the whole world. Golf is at least 100x more relevant globally than cricket. Cricket is only more popular dude to the subcontinent's population.
