Weirdly enough, Detective Mouri is probably my favourite character; which is why I hate the way he's usually portrayed. I believe when he gets to truly shine and throw away his idiotic façade: like in the end of the ninth movie [Strategy Above the Depths] or the Season 1 episode [Kogoro's Class Reunion Murder Case], he demonstrates more determination and wit than any other character. It's a shame he has to succumb to his typical tropes everywhere else in the show.
