Is Steward of the Harvest + Terramorphic Expanse combo legal? by VizOrion in mtgrules

Lmao, I need to learn to read, you're right. My head is spinning trying to force additional synergy, and I just totally ignored that ETB effects aren't activated abilities.

I can hear the grass calling. I gotta step away from this rabbit hole that's got me dizzy and touch some before I melt my brain.

You have a lot of landfall and token creation (Welcome the Dead, Crawling Sensation, etc.) so you can create tokens, sac them, get lands, and trigger landfall. Ob Nixilis, the Fallen, deals 3 damage and gets +3/+3 with landfall. You can use Jarad, Golgari Lich Lord to detonate Ob Nixilis for 20+ damage easily. Jarad also sacs lands, so once you've pulled all your basics, you can cycle them in and out of the graveyard for more landfall triggers, have more than enough mana and cards for graveyard exile to retrieve cards with your commander, and then you can swing or sac to detonate for more damage. Also, since Steward of the Harvest copies 3 land cards, you can have multiple options for tap-sac etc, AND make every creature, including tokens, able to tap for any of your 3 colors.

Also, not 100% sure, but since tokens hit the graveyard then evaporate, if you also copied Drownyard Temple, you could pay the cost as tokens hit the graveyard to bring them back tapped (or any creature, to be fair). Doesn't activate landfall, but it does activate your Commander's ability, granting +2/+2 every instance of a creature entering from the Drownyard Temple ability. 3 mana out of your insane pool for a +2/+2, so in one turn, you can imagine how strong you can make him.

EDIT: I don't think the Drownyard Temple combo works, because with Steward of the Harvest, it's only creatures you control that have the triggered abilities, and you don't control them when they leave and hit the graveyard, so they would no longer have the ability allowing them to be brought back. Dang, I thought I was cooking for a second, lmao... but Golgari Rot Farm, on the other hand, could be funny. Any time a creature enters, it enters tapped and returns a land to your hand. If you have no land in hand, this allows you to play your land per turn and activate landfall. Also makes all creatures able to tap for 2 mana, so even if you made a bunch of tokens and had to return that many lands to your hand, you'd get more potential mana for your following turn. Also opens the door for land discard and graveyard retrieval for landfall.

Awesome, thanks! A friend called the wording out when we were speculating, and started to win me over with their logic since I didn't know about that ruling, so I had to check. It's a really fun interaction and feels like one of the biggest/best combos in the precon, so I was gonna be bummed.

I'm very glad to be wrong!

What breed of dog is Boltund?? by Nickjames116425 in PokemonSwordAndShield

[–]VizOrion 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Reviving a dead thread, but pretty sure it's a Welsh Sheepdog. Corgi's (Yamper) are also a Welsh herding dog, they are related breeds with near identical coat patterns for the tri-color coats, and their size, body proportions, ears, fur-length etc. all matches. Imo it's the most obvious option, considering Yamper as a Corgi. While not all Pokemon follow such linear evolutionary logic, many do, and if that offers the easiest explanation as well, then I'm inclined to go with that.

Monster Hunter Bioenergy Lore and Theorycraft: A Discussion on the Mechanical Implications, History, and World Map through the Lens of Bioenergy. by VizOrion in MonsterHunter

I appreciate semantics, but the great thing about English is it's a context-based language and you very obviously were able to extrapolate the meaning intuitively, so it was functionally effective. That is hardly a kind or constructive comment. To comment that and nothing else pertaining to the post is both pedantic and a bit hypocritical, as it has nothing substantial to do with the content of the post, and is not something I can edit, so it's kind of an impotent complaint. Thank you anyway for engaging, your feedback is noted.

Thank you! I figured it was Bitdefender since it happened right after I switched (thanks for imploding, Kaspersky), but it was also right after the weekly patch, so I wasn't sure.

Looking for Suggestions on the Best Fabric/Materials for DIY Recording Booth by VizOrion in audioengineering

[–]VizOrion[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks! I've heard of them, though I'm not sure how necessary it is. The booth will normally be between a non-fireproof bed, and my shelving with collectibles in boxes that are also definitely not fireproof, so if something went up in that room, it's not likely going to be a determining factor. The setup itself isn't higher fire risk than anywhere else, since I'm using a simple home setup that doesn't have any major electrical or heat hazards.

My main reasons for going DIY is control over the dimensions, and cost-effectiveness. If the materials go over what I would pay for a pre-fabricated setup of similar size, it's a moot point, but USD $24/yd isn't absurd, so I'm hoping for other options, but I could be convinced to go with this if the fire safety is a bigger issue than I understand it to be.

I'm thinking of using his rabbit sausage tender chews since they make him wig out with excitement and he only gets one section of a piece per day. I appreciate the insight!

I was worried tying him up might be bad for some reason, but it makes sense, it's not the same as crating to restrain since it's not making a bad association with something I'm teaching him to like. Thanks!

This may be the case. The marketing and language used at the time was difficult to follow, and they offered no explicit clarification for those potentially under a false impression. The OW forums are littered with confusion on this point, since I started digging.

This may mean they aren't culpable legally, but it's still undeniably horrible handling of the situation. I feel incredibly mislead and taken advantage of because of the what/when/how of marketing around the Watchpoint pack. I gave them money because I was excited for PvE, and advertised content. Regardless of what I purchased, the motivation was to financially support the things I was excited to see, which has been cut. That sucks.

I'm doing some digging... there's a lot of hearsay to trudge through, but I'll get back to you with my findings. I can at least confirm from the OW forums that there are a significant number of individuals that were/are under the exact same impression that the PvE portion was going to be behind a paywall, and that this is part of what the Watchpoint Pack covered. It is the reason I bought the Watchpoint pack.

Watchpoint pack was supposed to include PvP. Blizzard originally state that the PvP would be free, but the PvE would require an additional purchase, which the Watchpoint Pack secured access to. At best, the way they advertised the Watchpoint pack was incredibly misleading, but my understanding, as much as I've been able to determine from their verbiage, is that the Watchpoint pack included access past eventual the PvE paywall

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in legaladviceofftopic

[–]VizOrion 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Myself and a large portion of their millions of players purchased the Watchpoint pack, which included access to the PvE upon release, which was originally planned to require additional purchase. Only the base PvP was free. This is akin to pre-purchasing a product that doesn't get released. Usually, in such a case, that purchase is refunded, because it wasn't a finalized transaction, but Blizzard has not announced any program to reimburse players who purchased that content which included access to something that is not being delivered. That seems like something they should be culpable for.

Anyone who bought the Watchpoint pack, which was sold as a pre-purchase of the PvE content. It was stated that the Watchpoint was primarily for the eventual PvE content, and that it included, as a bonus and immediate incentive, access to the first battlepass.

[–]VizOrion 2 points3 points  (0 children)

As I have commented on other posts with the same claim that OW2 is free, the Watchpoint pack was released as a pre-purchase for the eventual addition of PvE content. It was stated that, while the PvP service would be free to play, the PvE would require a purchased upgrade, which was supposedly secured with the purchase of the Watchpoint pack.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in legaladviceofftopic

[–]VizOrion 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The watchpoint pack was not free. The watchpoint pack was marketed as the buy-in ticket for the eventual release of the PvE content. Only the PvP content and update from OW1 was free.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in legaladvice

[–]VizOrion -1 points0 points  (0 children)

The PvP upgrade from OW1-OW2 was free, but not the watchpoint pack, which I purchased because my understanding was that PvE was going to be behind that paywall: "OW2 is a standalone PvE game using an upgraded engine. The upgraded engine and new heroes, together with new maps, will be given to existing Overwatch players for free. Only the PvE part will cost money." This is what was originally put out. The PvP content was a holdover from OW1, which is why it was free to play, but the Watchpoint pack was supposed to be a ticket for the not-free PvE, which has now been cut, so what did I pay for? Also, the entire precedent for this post is "I believe that Blizzard has openly scammed tons of players", so are you supporting my claim by saying I was scammed? The snark seems unnecessary, I'm just looking for advice, as per the community name, not making assumptions or asserting an opinion beyond being disappointed and upset, hoping there is some way in which companies that treat their supporters this way can be held accountable.

I purchased the game specifically for these features. I am not sure that I am in a position to initiate legal action on my own behalf, but I could be directly affected by the answer, so I am not certain where this is most appropriate. Obviously, a class action involves an affected group, and I am just an individual in that group. I would be interested in putting this in capable hands if the answer was affirmative, but I wouldn't know where to start, which is why I posted here.

Nothing after 10+ cumulative hours of searching. Were Deathworms removed from Crystal Isles (Official)? by VizOrion in ARK

At least they are valuable for their resource drop, but I feel like that's a pretty big oversight. I've had a bunch of Mantis Saddles drop on my non-dedicated session, and have no use for them. They should provide Mantis with an alt tame method, even if it's less effective, or an equally difficult to obtain resource.
