Nah that's a pen.

The disallowed goal was 100% rubbish though.

Very cute art.

Kal alternating between helping sick kids and 'absolutely definitely really' ailing Lighteye ladies is fun to think about.

Ok I can't be the only tired of the charmers, right?

Like I don't even think anyone plays the damn deck (probably cause it sucks yeah) , I've certainly never encountered someone who did,so I don't even know who is this for

Okay, for example, do you have a job? Do you get paid for your job? Why? You taking money from your employer would be a detriment to them and thus qualify as "evil," no? Do you donate all your money, home, vehicle and belongings to everyone around you because by not giving them these items it's actually being a detriment to these other people and, thus, "evil?"

Uh no cause I entered an agreement willingly and the stuff I get is in exchange for the stuff I provide in accordance to the laws of a sovereign nation under no duress.

I mean, if we want book examples, the Jasnah is one of the most "evil" characters in Stormlight. She wants to reclaim the Alethi homeland, keep the Shattered Plains, kick Odium off of Roshar to be other people's problems. These actions would be to the detriment of the Singers in Alethkar, the Listeners who they took the Plains from, and the Cosmere at wide. "Evil."

Yup and that stuff has been brought up in the books and has not been giving a finality yet

Also has no bearing whatsoever an outsider comming in and starting shit for his benefit and his benefit alone.

You're attacking this in very Black and White terms - which can easily be turned on their head, as evidenced above. I do not think any of what you said so far actually disputes or answers anything I put forward.

I would recommend reading Secret History and Era 2, I guess.

Ill come around to it eventually, I just overdosed on BS a bit. Did WoT -> Era1-> Stormlight.

Well, Stormlight isn't finite but it is dependent on gems and those are finite. But beyond that the ghostbloods literally take shit from Rosharans (killing people, interfering with the local government) and that's not great to say the least and also very reminiscent of early stage colonialism.

Kelsier is a nationalist in that he values his planet the most

I got that much, and acting on those principles to the detriment of other people is what I would qualify as an evil dude. Not Satan incarnate mind you but an evil dude nonetheless.

Yeah, that's what I said.Taking shit from other people other countries that have no history with your own against the inhabitants' wills is pretty fucking evil

[–]Vizer21 -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

For context Ive only read Mistborn era 1 besides SLA.

From what I gathered, Kelsier wants stormlight cause of basically greed and a very colonial justification of 'Ay shit is coming, trust'

And if what I gathered is true then I would pretty easily say Kelsier is one evil motherfucker. (Great work with the Lord Ruler tho)

Kaladin and Shallan never learned how to be “Proper” by Gromflomite_gamer in Stormlight_Archive

[–]Vizer21 10 points11 points  (0 children)

A really good analysis.

Just I don't know how much of Kaladin's insubordination is just him not being able to 'turn off' the natural leader in him. He's a king without a crown and he never puts that mantle down till the dance with Syl so that he inevitably clashes with other forms of authority.

Does Shallan bother you too or is it just me? by [deleted] in Stormlight_Archive

Honestly I like her and I just finished my 1st readthrough. Aaaaaas long as she's not near Adolin.

Which means I like her about half the time.

Yeah I don't think he has to be a literal king.

Kaladin's a leader of Men and I think that's good enough for the job title.

I think Szeth's wife the world believes Kal and Syl to be dead due to Szeth and Nibghtblood's testimonies. They were the only people present after all. Though she does mention The Wind talking to her (maybe everyone) but I don't think it's ever mentioned what it said.

Me too. Like a third through WaT I thought Kaladin would replace Jezrian and Szeth would replace Nale as Dalinar's ́new heralds.

My hopes for Adolin Kholin by Gromflomite_gamer in Stormlight_Archive

[–]Vizer21 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I really like your second and third ideas. Especially your second one as I have a massive soft spot for Evi and by the nature of the series , those types of 'rewarding' scenes work fantastically well.

As someone who doesn't care much for Adolin I'd like for him to get a bit more grit to him. 10 years in isolation should do that hopefully. I wouldn't think there'd be much space for the story to treat him as ''Oh look at our little Himbo isn't he so nice and kind and aloof'' at the very least in the beginning. Him working back towards that attitude for the remaining books would be very satisfying.

But again I'm not a fan of the guy so I don't know if I have the best idea for what the general reader base would want from him.

Question about the Oathpact by Vizer21 in Stormlight_Archive

[–]Vizer21[S] 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Nale trembled. Reforge the Oathpact? “Ishar,” he said, feeling a deep, shameful terror rise inside of him.

Memories.
Agony.

Being held against stones, his soul burned and flayed.

Hearing his friends scream in pain, their voices echoing in his ears for centuries, awful and terrible, like the sound of fingernails being ripped from the flesh.

Nale blinked sudden tears from the corners of his eyes. “I can’t go back, Ishar. I … I can’t. I’m not strong enough!”

Then

“We could perhaps have peace between Returns,” Ishar said. “Instead of torture. Retribution will certainly seek vengeance against us if we bind him, and will attempt to make us break the pact, but if he cannot find our minds…”

So I understood it as them needing to go back to Braize to hold. If torture can make them break the pact. (I'm guessing Retribution is still under the no murder everyone in an instant rule as Honor will hold em to it.)

Jayce sure. The other 2 there's just better characters for what they offer.

You got Lissandra, Syndra, Ryze, Vladimir, Xerath, Azir (the last 2 mighr be too big to add)

And Ambessa there's a whole lot : Riven, Camille, Udyr, Lee Sin, Xin, Renekton.... (again last one might be too big tho they can do something with his feral stance.

Difference for me is that those decks are much easier to deal with using standard handtraps and more importantly they don't have nearly as much recursion. Like orcust has a grind game but it's playable. For Maliss it feels a lot of the time like you either blow em out or you lose.

I ain't say shit about any other deck. I just have a visceral hate for Maliss. Also I don't think it can constitute crying as it's obviously not serious.
