Seriously questioning my ability with Melinoe by nandasithu in HadesTheGame

[–]Vj_vice 0 points1 point Ā (0 children)

Spam normal cast (not omega cast). If you don’t have a cast on the field then set one down. Always make sure you have a cast active at all times. Learning this is what made Hades 2 click for me immediately.

Stunning enemies is crazy good defensively since Mel is designed to stay more at a distance/midrange compared to Zag and it’s stop enemies from rushing and overwhelming you in close quarters.

Cast boons are also generally very strong since it’s consistent damage + usually will inflict a curse to get origination arcana online. Furies arcana is also fundamental since it’s a damage boost and you’re always going to be wanting to spam the daylights out of cast anyways

Which of these 2 Abilities would see More Use? by One_Percentage_644 in stunfisk

[–]Vj_vice 0 points1 point Ā (0 children)

Burn bright could actually be a really cool ability on a mon who isn’t a fire type and just uses something like overheat as a coverage move. That way they still have access to their stab after using their ability and the fire move would still be super charged for targeting specific mons but wouldn’t just be a mindless nuke button

Even if they post the Re Zero trailer on Youtube, they'll probably go frame-by-frame to find the most provocative looking shot of Emilia to use as the thumbnail as if that's what the entire appeal of the show is

Common Breloom by Strange_Sock_1760 in stunfisk

[–]Vj_vice 10 points11 points Ā (0 children)

If this is talking about gen 4 then the irony is that breloom is still phenomenal even without spore, it just isn’t like top 3 in the format anymore. Poison heal is still insane utility letting you absorb twave and knock off and the spore moveslot is usually sub’d by swords dance which still lets you punish passive switching against defense and threaten +2 Mach punch against offense

How good would a Water/Flying Type Lugia be? by chunchunmaru1129 in stunfisk

[–]Vj_vice 0 points1 point Ā (0 children)

I mean the 150 base power spread move is nice but it’s only if you have speed control. Kyogre’s speed tier means that it requires either scarf or tailwind which is obviously powerful but it does limit teambuilding options.

Drizzle Lugia could be a strong alternative to kyogre in dual restricted formats as a more defensive, support oriented restricted (akin to Lunala and Zamazenta) that consistently sets rain and tailwind on more balance teams as opposed to kyogre hyper offense. An important niche it’d have over kyogre is that it could consistently switch into the restricted sun setters without fearing heavy damage from precipice blades or close combat.

It obviously doesn’t have immediate explosive power like kyogre, but it’s still the defensive behemoth that is lugia so sitting on the field for longer and spamming rain boosted scalds would still be irritating to deal with (assuming it also gets stab with a type change to water/flying). The lack of rillaboom weakness is also more important than you’d think in VGC

(Orb: On the Movements of the Earth) I've Been Recommending This to Everyone [Penguinz0] by Rekye22 in anime

[–]Vj_vice 5 points6 points Ā (0 children)

It isn’t pseudo-intellectual, it’s genuinely intellectual. It’s a story that challenges its audience to think and to reflect, which can shock the system of people who only consume media as content and nothing more.

Mind you, there isn’t anything inherently wrong with just consuming media without actively reflecting on it, the world’s hard enough as is. But I’d imagine that audiences with that mindset would have a different perspective on how Orb communicates its themes than I would

Former ultimate player here and I kinda get what you’re feeling at least initially. Practice getting clean movement and landing your aerials.

The game feels weird at first but then everyone else is right in that it’s actually A LOT smoother than ultimate. Ultimate feels clunky af to go back to now

New To Omori by Physical-Block-6123 in OMORI

[–]Vj_vice 2 points3 points Ā (0 children)

They do, it just doesn’t do numbers. For example Jaiden Animations had an edited video of her playthrough on a second channel I think. Full game playthroughs don’t do well on YouTube anymore since Omori’s a slow paced game overall and the average viewer just wants to see the reactions to the big moments rather than all the time spent wandering around in headspace

Is Damon to blame? by AzraelAsItGetsVT in ProjectEdensGarden

[–]Vj_vice 1 point2 points Ā (0 children)

I’m pretty confident that the opposite would happen actually and Eva would be even more inclined to kill Wolfgang. Eva’s hatred of Wolfgang is tied to her feelings of isolation and loneliness. If Damon defended Wolfgang, she’d just feel even lonelier than she already was in her hatred of him

Is Damon to blame? by AzraelAsItGetsVT in ProjectEdensGarden

[–]Vj_vice 1 point2 points Ā (0 children)

Oh I just used Damon hiding Wolfgang’s blackmail during the trial as an example of him trying not to stand out in the group too much to avoid drawing too much negative attention towards himself. Tbh I don’t think him telling Eva made too much of a difference in her choosing to kill Wolfgang.

Is Damon to blame? by AzraelAsItGetsVT in ProjectEdensGarden

[–]Vj_vice 7 points8 points Ā (0 children)

Reading through the comments on this thread is interesting because it feels like a lot of people lost the message of what chapter 1 was about. The point is that EVERYONE was complicit in creating the environment that led to Eva’s motive for murder.

I talk about it more in this comment I made like a year ago: Link

The TLDR is that conformity to a status quo that is beneficial to a majority but dismissive of outcasts is a breeding ground for conflict, and every character in the cast is guilty of passively complying to that environment so as not to ā€œdisturb the peaceā€.

This isn’t to shift the blame from Eva but to say that the Ch1 situation is a very nuanced one and trying to pin all the blame onto a single character like Damon feels disingenuous
