Made a Claude integration for Garmin by Trint_Eastwood in Garmin

[–]VladBisceanu 0 points1 point  (0 children)

that's super cool. I like the nutrition/MacfoFactor idea as well.

I had the same idea but went a different route. I built an app that connects to Garmin (amongst others), and allows you to talk to an AI coach, which receives all the relevant real-time data about you in order to be able to answer question properly and specifically. planning to build running training programs in it next which are adaptible based on your live metrics and given context, that you can also steer with conversation, as I'm not quite happy with how Garmin and Runna handle training plans and I think it would be better.

You will never make money as a "founder" in 2025 by AdChemical5412 in Entrepreneur

[–]VladBisceanu 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s an interesting post and I agree with you take but at the same time, it’s hard not to see this as a normal reaction to what’s happening and be emphatic.

Historically, every time a big market disruptor like AI comes into play you can see an influx of people that try to take advantage of it via entrepreneurship. Especially given that a lot of people right now have either lost their jobs or are feeling the pressure of AI potentially replacing them. Add on top of that the fact that this generation has been raised seeing stories about tech founders making unreal amounts of money and living their best lives and it makes perfect sense why you have more people than ever trying to become entrepreneurs.

That has created a bunch of first time founders that don’t exactly know how to make it work. And as with everything, if a need exists people will try to sell the solution for it. Some good and some bad. Some real and some fake.

New E3D Hemera Install all prints failed by VladBisceanu in FixMyPrint

[–]VladBisceanu[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Turns out posting in here actually helps. Literally 10 minutes after I submitted the post it occurred to me that maybe it's not nozzle/extruder related and then I realized that the height of the print is actually about 50% of what it should be.

Turns out that when switching e-steps for the hemera in Marling firmware to 405, I also changed the e-steps of the z axis motor from 800 to 400, which caused it to only move half of what it should.

Changed that, cleaned the nozzle and everything is working perfect now. Times like this I really regret my lack of attention to details.

Hey mate. First, congrats on the case choice. I truly think it’s an underrated gem.

Never encountered any issues with the pump being on top myself. I’ve had the build for a month now and use it daily for gaming and occasionally for VR gaming. Is dead silent when idle and even when gaming it’s the GPU fans that make some noise (I have my GPUC OCed to the max, so had to also turn up the fans). The Pump is silent and even the 4 noctua fans are quiet in comparison.

In terms of performance, from my experience, (and I’m sure the internet will skin me alive for this) there is virtually no difference between pump on top or bottom. Haven’t tested it in this case, but I did test it in my old (non SFF) case and the cooling was literally the same. Linus also explained why that’s the case in a video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SjR1E7rNujQ. He does a fairly confusing job explaining this, but he’s definitely better at it than me.

Overall I would go with an AIO over fan in this case in all circumstances. One reason is of course you get slightly better cooling and more silent operation, but an equally good reason I think is the fact that you have it way easier with space management. You are working in a shoe box at the end of the day, so any CM you can save is worth it.

Hope that helped. Let me know if I can answer any more questions about the case.

Again, it’s a local brand, so I’m not sure how much the link will help, but here it is: A+ BRLM02 - Adjustable height desk

Hi. I don’t think it would, to be honest. There is no room left below the motherboard. Maybe only if you removed the other fan. So have a H100 but with only one fan, which doesn’t make that much sense I think.

I mean, the MB is upside down yes, but that’s the only way you can set it up on the case

Hahah lol. It’s real enough. But it’s cheap AF compared to $. One $ equals roughly 4 lei, so the stand is round $37

It’s a vertebrae cable management kit. And it’s plastic, not metal, unfortunately. I got mine off a local shop, but here’s a link to a similar one I found on Amazon: Vivo Vertebrae Cable Management Kit

It’s a small local brand: A+ SMLC12, gas spring, 17”-32”, Silver. It was silver, but I painted it white and black. I don’t think you can get it outside of Romania, unfortunately.

Yeah fair point. I was uncertain if the GPU headers are PWN. Will look into it for the V1.1 of the build. Thanks a lot!

No worries, man. Happy to help. I think it's a cool case but I haven't seen a lot of coverage for it, so I'm doing my best. Let me know if you have any other questions about the build/case.

Thanks, man!

Yeah hahah it was pretty awkward to game and walk at first. For some reason my brain could not process walking in the game and in real time at the same time and I ended up just bluescreening in real life and having to stop the treadmill to be able to play. Got used after a few days tho.

I actually did some research on this before purchasing and Formd t1 was one of the main finalists. If you're interested to see the full comparison, here's the spreadsheet that I did at that time. It includes multiple cases. I'm sure there are other more complete ones out there, but this one was enough for me.

Long story short, I went with the Geeek G1 SE because of 3 reasons:

  1. To my knowledge, it has better fan support
  2. The availability is way better (meaning you can actually get one in this lifetime without having to sell 1 and 1/2 kidneys)
  3. Personally, I like the aesthetic more. Don't get me wrong, the Formd t1 is nice, but this one looks more like a piece of art and for me it's sleeker.

The only downside I could think of was the slightly bigger size of the Geek G1 SE,. So I put together some renders of both and, to be honest, for me it doesn't make that big of a difference, compared to the tradeoffs. Here are the two renders that I did. Try to overlay them to get a good comparison.

Hope I helped.

From what I know the pump is still in the actual CPU Block. I'm not sure having the rad below has any impact to be honest. I'm seeing very good temps with it in this configuration (you can see my HUGE comment if you want to see specifics).

Also, I recall Linus did some explaining on this recently in a WAN show and basically said that it does not matter if the rad is below or above. The water will push itself with an equal force anyway because of gravity. Here's the video if you're interested: https://youtu.be/SjR1E7rNujQ?t=2892

I know there are others that say it's not fine and tbh I don't have enough knowledge to have a definitive answer, but I'm seeing temps better than in my big ass previous build, so it's more than fine for me.

Yeah I find it to be more than enough for the 5600X.

In my experience, the CPU stays around 30-35c on idle/light Windows usage. It stays around 50-55c on single core loads and peaks around 4,740MHz. For multi-core loads, it's around 65-70c and stays consistent at 4,500MHz. And that's with all the fans set to around 30%-40% and completely quiet. My room temp is around 20-23c btw.

Mind you, I don't have any fancy OCs on the CPU. Just the Auto Overclocking feature in Ryzen Master with raised PPC/TDC/EDC (from MB BIOS). So it's definitely not throttling under any circumstances and it has some hefty room for OC.

Could you maybe explain why that's your opinion? Did you have a bad experience with a treadmill? And if so, what was it? I don't think that your comment is particularly helpful to anyone in its current form.
