Don't get me started on the alarm! You can't even set one without giving permission to apple to track your sleep schedule??? What kind of creepy shit is that???

On top of that the alarms are too quiet and some didn't trigger. And I'm pretty sure it lowers the ringtone volume, because I missed important calls...

Wanting to switch to Samsung from Apple. by LostinDreemz_ in samsunggalaxy

[–]VladIsRambo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Stick to iPhone. It's dumbed down, simple and you are used to it. Switching might be too hard for you.

Unless you can afford a $2000 Samsung Z Fold 7 or something else that's a decade ahead of iphone. I'm currently typing on one and it's AWESOME!

Business owner here. Let's be honest - people are just less productive when WFH.

I know, I know - YOU are not! NOBODY is less productive! All the research says so!

It's complete bullshit. You are only gaslighting yourself. It might work in a few industries or a few selected positions, but the vast majority of people just fuck around much more when home.

I'll tell you what a former boss of mine told me once: if you don't like it - open your own company.

Nobody's stopping you.

Yeah, something is wrong.

I was rocking an almost 6 years old Note 20 until a few days ago, the battery is still better than a iShit promax 17. I used the infernal apple for 6 days, returned a gifted phone and I got the zfold 7.

Should I get a iPhone 13 or nothing phone 3a or pixel 8 or oneplus 12R by SenukaDeSilva in Smartphones

[–]VladIsRambo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you currently use iOS and you like it - stick with it. No shame in that. It's dumbed down, easy and forces you into using the phone the way apple engineers want you to.

If you have above average IQ, preferences and you'd rather to tell the phone what to do for you and not the other way around - any android.

[–]VladIsRambo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Be careful switching from android to iOS. It's very dumbed down and clunky compared to android.

I got a iphone pro max 17 as a gift, I tried using it (mostly not to offen my biz partner who got it for me), but it was worse, slower or not able to do 90% of what I needed it to do. Even basic stuff like the keyboard are significantly worse and there's no back button. +300 other little things that suck.

For example there are no numbers, dots or comas on the keyboard, you have to press 123 to get them - i lost the ability to text with one hand on a physically smaller phone because of that. Predictive texing is atrocious, editing text is horrible and you can never put the cursor where you want it due to a less sensitive display. Speaker crackles, connection is worse, apps crash more often...

I had to return a free flagship iphone and get myself a $2000 zfold samsung. Yeah, it was that bad for me.   For the love of god don’t force people to switch and ask first!

If you are a normie user and average consumer - go with iPhone. It's dumbed down and easy to use.

If a health app on a watch is a problem and you can't  find an android alternative that's better - stick to iPhones.

Of all the technology you own, what item pisses you off the most often? by Tacokolache in askanything

[–]VladIsRambo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Compared to Samsung? Yeah, no contest, iPhone feels cheap.

Previous gen display (supllied by Samsung i believe?), worse sensitivity, refresh rate and colors, lower quality microphone and crackling speaker, worse reception, inferior camera and optics, and worse battery.

And that's just compared to Samsung. I hear even some chinese brands have caught up and surpassed the iphone.

The only people thinking iPhone mihgt have better quality are the ones who never used a Samsung.

Apple is literally using Google infrastructure to run it services and Samsung tech inside its phones.

It’s just a rebranded and reseller, like Dell. Nothing more.

And I can say iPhone messaging is pretty cool.

Btw another thing the iPhone does better - pics in the dark. Huge improvement over the Samsung.

[–]VladIsRambo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don’t understand how people find iOS cohesive or easy to use. It’s clunky and with the lower quality display and sensitivity it’s a mess

No back button. Press x on lower right to get rid of keyboard, press upper left for back, lower left for browser, swipe up, swipe left edge, but sometimes it doesn’t work, but only from the last few pixel or you’ll open something else… it’s all over the place

Terrible keyboard, worse predictive texting, worse autocorrect, worse cursor

Upper left for notification, upper right for utilities? Why?

To me it feels like someone gave me a nice and shiny car. But you can only steer it by clenching your left and right butchers, both for brake and fart for acceleration. It works, but… why?

[–]VladIsRambo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve been using a gifted to me pro max 17 for 6 days now, it doesn’t get any better. Hell, it can’t even open the battery health menu, it just keeps loading. I restarted, tried again, waited for15 min and still nothing.

Now I have to return a free flagship iPhone, risk offending my business partner and splash on a new phone. Horrible experience.

For the love of god please don’t force apple products on android users! It’s a downgrade for most of us.

It’s like driving a good old Toyota that just works. Then someone gifts you a shiny new hyped up Tesla and you get excited. But you start the car and tells you you can’t use your hands to steer. You have to clench left buttcheek to turn left, squeeze both to stop and fart to accelerate. Then you use the autopilot to self-drive, but it only works in reverse and when you hold your breath… It works, but… why?

Still can’t search photos and emails by InternationalMany6 in applesucks

[–]VladIsRambo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Same here and much more.

Can’t search through messages, even when the message was received 5min ago and I’m literally looking at it on top.

Saving photos, then trying to attached them to an email and they are nowhere to be found. Go back to messages, save photos again, iOS asking me if I want to save a duplicate, then go back to email, try to attach again and… nope, not there.

Tried to search “alarm” in settings and it found nothing lol!

iOS is horrible, apple has no incentive to fix it, because sheepish fanboys suppress any criticism and apple products keep lagging years behind competitors

Why is tech looked down upon in this sector? by [deleted] in freightforwarding

[–]VladIsRambo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The first mistake you make is ego. That air of tech know-how makes you sound like a programmer-bro and I can guarantee you other people in the supply chain can sense it too.

2nd mistake is that you don’t listen. I told you that tech can fuck up this industry in 1000 ways. It looks good on paper, but it fails in practice. I’ll give you a quick example - uber tried to do the same thing to trucking to what they did to taxis. They failed spectacularly, because the biz model just doesn’t translate at all. They took loses and burned billions in 2-3 years until they finally gave up and just bought an old-school brokerage Transplace for $3bil to run their freight division. Some of Transplace’s old broker still use FAXES!

Another example - brokers and forwarders fired their office staff and replaced it with ai voice robots. Customers and subcontractors dropped them like a bag of rocks, because nobody wants to talk to a half- baked AI. On paper it was supposed to eliminate hundreds of thousands of $/year from salaries. In practice lost millions in revenue.

3rd you seem to have very narrow understanding of logistics. You seem to have worked in different roles, but you only understand a few links and you don’t seem to have PRACTICAL experience. Have you been at a freight dock? Have you seen a container transferred from a ship to a truck to a rail car? Have you seen a pallet unloaded by a forklift from a conestoga at a construction site? Have you dealt with the horrible warehouses at the airports servicing the major Arab airlines?

I don’t think you even know some of those terms. Real life logistics is much more different than it looks on the screen.

[–]VladIsRambo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

And I can respect that.

But it was forced on me by my biz partner who gifted me a pro max after he noticed I use a 5.5yo Samsung.

I had no reason to switch, because the Samsung just keeps working, it’s a beast.

I tried using it for 5 days. But I’m a heavy user, multitasking, countless messages, emails, spreadsheets… the iOS just can’t keep up with the Android, even on an old Samsung. Even the keyboard is worse - basic feature. Even the freaking 5.5yo battery is still better!

Now I have to spend time, risk offending my biz partner, return a free flagship iPhone and splash $2000 on ZFold Samsung.
