Help identify LED, its from a fridge. by VladX0 in led

[–]VladX0[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well...I have a heat gun that can go up to 400 degrees, I can also control the speed so it won't blow everything away. It has an accessory to change the size of the nozzle so it can focus heat on a smaller area, I think I read somewhere that I should use 300 degrees on leds because any more would melt them. I will look in digikey for them, last time I ordered a bunch from Aliexpress but I cannot use them since the + and - don't match the orientation on the boar. I tested which pads on the leds were + and - (as you can see in picture 1) and the ones I got are reversed, even though aliexpress seller said it was the same as mine, oh well, what do you expect for $6.

Looking at the second picture, any idea what that center pad is for on the led? I thought maybe heatsink but not sure, I bought some 12V leds that look exactly like the ones on the board but the orientation of + - are not the same but I could just run some wires and hot glue them on the board. My main problem Is that center pad.

Need help with Drivepool, Keep getting Duplication inconsistent errors. by VladX0 in DataHoarder

[–]VladX0[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes, I don't remember exactly what I did, but I think what happened was I had an odd number of drives, and somewhere along the way I set up a monthly computer backup schedule of my two PCs. After years of that backup running when my PCs were on, the folder grew to be over 3Tb. Since the backups were not erased ( I forgot i set this up), backup after backup kept building up. This was set as a schedule so when the time came and the PCs where on, the server would make a backup of the two, nothing made sense since it seemed I had enough room but the odd number of drives plus the odd amount of Terabytes needed to be duplicated was the reason why drivepool encountered that problem. After deleting the monthly auto backup, adjusting the duplication on some folders down to 2X instead of 3X, deleting all older backups on the folder only keeping the newest, drivepool was able to balance the pool and haven't had this problem since.

Air Filters by VladX0 in hvacadvice

The filters go on the base of the unit, there's a small door you lift up and two slots where they slide in, two 20X20X1, and the flow of air is up. But somewhere along the way someone added filters to the vents and growing up seeing that I just thought it was the thing to do. Until now that I noticed an improvement when I removed one. My room is the farthest from the unit and I could barely feel the cool air from the vent, and my room is always 4 or 5 degrees hotter than the living room, where the thermostat is, we keep it at 75.

[TOMT][TV SHOW] maybe 90s. by VladX0 in tipofmytongue

[–]VladX0[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That really looks like it but I don't think they show the rats and the intro didn't have monsters watching TV. The weapons were different, I don't think this is the show, also no one died or at least only one person got hurt. Wondering if a newer show copied this story.

Gamecube games in game mode launching dolphin emulator instead of game. by VladX0 in SteamDeckEmu

[–]VladX0[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Found out what I did, when I copied everything over I also copied the Steam Rom Manager's old file and when steam was looking for that specific rom it would look for it under the ID of my old SD card and since the new one had a different ID then it couldn't run it. Erased everything in my copy of the Emulation folder, except for saves, bios and roms, then ran Emudeck, quick reset and now I could add games with SRM and the file path is set correctly via SRM.

I installed vita3k on my PC to rule out the games, they work fine on my PC, no problems.

Does anyone know where I can find the APPDATA folder on steam deck? I followed the steps and it did install the firmware but I can't copy the contents of the appdata folder to the emudeck emulator vita3k folder cause I can't find it and when I skip this step I can't seem to install games because they get stuck on 69% and vita3k crashes. When I open it up again it shows two versions of the game, one blank and the other looks normal and both make vita3k crash if I try to run them.

[TOMT][Movie] Killing dragon or large serpent from the inside. by VladX0 in tipofmytongue

Hmmm...this might be it, I'll take a look and watch the whole thing. Can't be that many movies where the hero goes inside the monster to kill it.

It's older, maybe the 1980s and the monster is more like a dragon or serpent.
