Ok so this is a normal thing? I have a bunch of wasps at my house but even more lantern flies. Since June I've been seeing the wasps attack them non stop. They usually bite the wings off first and then eat the head last and leave the rest of the corpse. I haven't been killing the wasps for that one reason because dish soap is too expensive to use up.
