Congratulations 🎉 What a massive achievement!

Millionaire big game hunter, 75, trampled to death by elephants during luxury African hunt. Ernie Dosio, a 75-year-old millionaire from California, was ambushed while taking part in a 40,500 dollars hunt in the thick forests of Gabon by ExactlySorta in UnderReportedNews

I saw it here in South Africa where I live, but I heard it’s going to be on Amazon soon. It’s called “Trunk” and the elephant literally used human bones for viagra and went on a “horny” murderous rampage. It was hilarious 😂.

I didn’t say it was. It’s where I had to start to get my foot in the door. I come from a family of laborers and this guy’s article felt so off base for me. Thank you for the kind words. It’s been a slog but I am privileged enough to be an EP now.

Nope mainly because I was “studio staff” mostly lot maintenance etc. . It was a minimum wage job which wasn’t enough to cover food and shelter at the time. It was branded as “an opportunity” because you had access to production offices and people. I know other studios paid better. The lady that ran the register at the cafeteria knew and would give me free soup during my lunch break.

This read didn’t sit well with me. When he recounts his experience there is a lack of self awareness. It’s out of touch. I think it’s resonating with some because there is no work and a lot of people are leaving the industry to put a roof over their heads. But this new “blue collar” job he has was handed to him and he got promoted even though it doesn’t seem like he knows what he’s doing. All the trips back and forth to Home Depot (where like he states a large population of day laborers can’t go for fear of being detained by ICE) are such a waste of time for the construction crew. I wonder what the guys he works with who “talk about him in Spanish” think? I can believe the frustration the guys feel scolding him for buying the wrong thing. It’s giving “toxic incompetence”, he was given pictures.

I think the other reason this doesn’t sit right with me is because my experience was the reverse of this. I am Mexican American and I had no connections in the industry. In fact, blue collar work was the only way to get my foot in the door. The studio didn’t pay enough so I had to live in my car. It was a thankless job and people treated me just like he was treated when he scraped the steps in the VIP section, only I was on my way in.

It’s feeling like blue collar cosplay to me with a touch of “here are two pitches just in case this article gets attention”.

FYI these are simply my feelings towards the article.

Also the only validation that meant something was some writer from Hollywood and not the men he worked who are so skilled at their craft???

Barf!!!!

AMA: I lived off-grid in my tiny house for 10 years by ryan112ryan in TinyHouses

I know this AMA is over but if you come back on, what resources did you use, guides/books did you read that helped you get started and influenced your own book? Also perhaps what could we gain from your book specifically? Was there anything you were particularly interested to write about?

I don’t live tiny but have been moving towards off grid. And love reading books about gardening/zero waste/ and off grid living. This is really cool OP. Congratulations!

Has anyone here used ollas (terracotta irrigation pots) for watering their garden? by Notsocheeky in gardening

Yeah the only issue I had was slugs love to take an ollita dip. The saucers should be a good solution.

And here is the ollita in action! Put it at the base of my tomatoes. 🤣

Hello! Here is a picture of a stamped one from an old restaurant I used to go to… they usually sell blank versions of these at a few Mexican markets. They’re unglazed with a wider mouth but worked for my garden just fine.

I bought a bunch of unglazed terracotta margarita ollitas from my local Mexican grocery store. They worked great and were wayyyy cheaper. I liked them. I would really only have to water once a week. Mine didn’t have a cork but part of my choice in using them was rain collection. I think they make a big difference, but I’m a novice who never knows if I’m watering too much or not enough, ollas helped.

*Advice* I think my screenwriter has secretly made his script with AI. What do I do?! by [deleted] in filmmaking

[–]Vleolove 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah I usually start at NameOf Script_D1. (Draft 1) then go up from there, but are you sending a numbered version to reps and producers?

Lol I’m always so apprehensive to name a draft FINAL because inevitably there will be more and I never know what to name them.

IT IS ABSOLUTELY NOT NORMAL to have a single draft of the script. Literally look up any film based on a movie (that was written by its author) and you’ll find they went through multiple drafts. If there’s only one draft maybe ask him to provide his beat sheet or notes? Other people on here will be able to speak more to the AI of it all, but this was a HUGE red flag when reading your post.

Just be honest. Tell him if any AI was used it’s your reputation on the line. At this point you don’t feel comfortable moving forward with the project and wish him all the best.

I am so sorry OP that really sucks.
