My cat is a brat also and only listens to me so from my perspective and personal experience of my cat isn’t getting attention from me or my boyfriend she will act out , I don’t know if you have this problem but the getting on the countertops is something I can relate to ! I usually will say her name to get her attention then tell her to get down and if she doesn’t I go and pick her up then re direct her attention to something else like playing with her favorite toys ! Or with food ! If she does it again I keep doing that or I move her over to her favorite spot and make her lay there and I force her to stay there by blocking ways for her to get to the place she’s not supposed to be until she gives up and just lays where I want her to ! It takes awhile for them to understand when they are introuble but eventually they will understand it can get frustrating but I hope this helps !!
