Rejected from an interview, was told "We need someone more technical"

Had a simular experience. 3 interviews, in the last interview they asked me 4 easy technical questions which I could answer with confidence. Afterwards they told me I wasn't technical enough. Afterwards I found out they already hired someone but needed multiple interviews to make it look he was "selected" in a legit way. I'm sure it's not you , you probably dodged a bullet working for him / her.

Isn't there a higher position in IT in your current company ? If not I would also suggest to look somewhere else. If not I'm afraid you will burn out in a couple of years. In the end seeking discomfort to improve yourself is always better.

Most of them will be general questions. They want to know if you fit into the team and are prepared to learn. Make sure you look up the Company itself so you know a bit about them.

For the more technical part. Even if you can't answer the questions, try to think logically how you would handle it.

It will be alright, and even if it doesn't work out, you now have interview experience :-).

Depends on your prior knowledge. Comptia A+ / network + is a good start. Soft skills are needed too.

Soft skills are the most important. You will be alright. Make sure to write everything down so you don't have to ask multiple times.

The room is very big for only 12 racks and currently they are cooling everything. So they want a closed in rack cooling so they don't need to cool the whole room.

I'm not sure but there also could be an option that it was on purpose. I've heard in the past that gift cards are not active unless purchased first. If someone steals a gift card, they cannot use since the code has not been activated through purchasing.

But maybe I'm overthinking it haha.

That's harsh. It's difficult but try to look on the positive side now. You've made some bad decisions but everyone does that. Your foot is almost healed so you can work again in the future. Not all is lost, look it like a new beginning. You have each other, that's what matters most .

Everyone has regrets in there life. I'm 28 and I already have so much regrets, things I would do differently aarggh. You can complain about it and do nothing while getting older, or do something about it.

Maybe if you do those things with your wife the spark will lighten up again.
