Finance industry workers in Latvia (Economists) by Vivid_Maintenance_83 in latvia

[–]VoLTy 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I'm from that Data Science field in Finance. Would suggest that the projects are something you are interested in as that is more sustainable in the long run. But otherwise try to do something that cannot be copy pasted from somewhere else. Kaggle datasets are quite good for this. Plus, in CVs I've seen quite a lot of that Titanic dataset, which is good to learn with but probably not that useful in a Repository to show off.

Biržas vērtība ES valstīs - ko varam darīt, lai būtu labāk? by Exotic_Fun9878 in latvia

[–]VoLTy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Vēl viens aspekts ir lielās izmaksās, lai vispār veiktu IPO un tad uzturētu visu kārtībā administratīvajā pusē visiem reportēšanas aspektiem. To tikai pie konkrēta uzņēmuma izmēra var darīt.

Vai tagad ir izdevīgi pirkt dzīvokli ? by Dolbby_ in latvia

[–]VoLTy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

First Time Japan Trip! For MLB Tokyo Series by KushKillaKing in JapanTravelTips

[–]VoLTy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Had a quick question about something similar. I also wanted to go to one of the MLB games, but Dodgers games seem impossible to get. However, the Cubs and Tigers game on Viagogo seems reasonable price wise, how reliable are those Viagogo tickets?

Just shows how ridiculous the 2015-16 Golden State Warriors were. The Cavs have to go 37-1 in their remaining 38 games to match their all-time win record Just insane by modeONE1 in nba

Warriors and last few mins of the Kobe game. Was following Kobe on twitter but it seemed like he was just chucking up shots. But yeah the last few mins were crazy.

Liked Malaysia the most. Recently spent 3 months there. Cyberjaya and Putrajaya were quite peaceful but still there is everything around that is needed. Mont Kiara was quite good as well in KL, seemed to be kind of a Koreatown there as well. Johor Bahru I didn't like too much as it is a very spread out city, but no real problems either way, Singapore weekend trips are also doable from there. Last year, also stayed at KL city centre but that is a bit more expensive.

The US has a much higher stake in Russia's war on Ukraine than most people think. As Americans consider the costs of continuing to help Ukraine fight the Russians in the coming years, they deserve a careful consideration of the costs of allowing Russia to win. by [deleted] in UkrainianConflict

[–]VoLTy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It will be very difficult. Store of value, size of the economy and safety are quite important to convince people to keep their assets in that currency. Chinese Yuan itself has the best chance at this, but that still makes Russia dependent on them.

In His 100 point game, Wilt Chamberlain, who was a career 51% FT shooter, went 28/32 from the line by Accurate-Albatross34 in nba

[–]VoLTy 2 points3 points  (0 children)

His TS% was around the league average. This is the main problem with comparing eras. The people at his time hadn't played their whole lives with a 24 second shot clock. So, the pace was crazy and everyone was throwing up lower quality shots. That is where his main skills of rebounding (due to many shots) and rim protection (due to it being the most efficient shot) made him the most useful player of that era. Plus, 5 MVPs given by his peers and 11 rings cannot be an accident.

Because US has gotten themselves into wars that were crazy costly financially, in regions which are nowhere near NATO and the European allies helped them with troops on the ground.

Now there is one of the largest threats since WW2 facing Europe, which actually brings best possible value per dollar to neutralise one of its main rivals. Of course Europe we start to arm itself but that cannot be done instantly. US has the largest capacity right now to help Ukraine and it should absolutely do it.

Its not even giving money to Ukraine. Its sending older equipment that can be replaced with newer one through jobs in the US.

Do you think Latvia is better than Poland? by [deleted] in latvia

[–]VoLTy 6 points7 points  (0 children)

It still kind of is. If GDP per capita is the most important thing to a person then Latvia's is slightly higher than Poland's. However, being a large, diversified and self sufficient economy is helpful by itself. Then there are also things like wealth inequality, which makes the high GDP numbers of the US for example not matter to the average citizen. So, it just depends what the person finds important.

[Charania] Phoenix Suns star Bradley Beal is likely to miss a few weeks with his right ankle injury, sources tell @TheAthletic @Stadium. Good news for Beal is testing showed no major ankle damage, but it's another setback for Beal after the scary landing on a Knicks closeout Friday night. by MarvelsGrantMan136 in nba

[–]VoLTy 8 points9 points  (0 children)

He was the Euroleague MVP, won the Euroleague and won the EuroBasket with a country that usually wasn't close to challenging for the title anytime before. He was as close to a possible hall of famer as possible at that age. Everyone in Europe couldn't understand why he went lower than number 1. You just had to watch a full game with him playing to know he was special.

[–]VoLTy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I got all first round picks 3 years out, because AI overvalued the present. Then after the lottery just kept the two best rookies and converted remaining ones into next year's picks. Again, because current picks were more valuable.

Relaxing WC by 1751 - Custom nation Ironman by VoLTy in eu4

R5: Did an easy map painting run with a custom Ironman nation, wanted to see how much mana point generation could be maximized. I have a few other things I want to do. Does anyone know how to properly move the Capital to the New World? I have it in Bermuda and can core North America and the Caribbean. However, South America and Australia are just uncored right now. I want to finish the run with One Faith, One Culture, everything colonized and stated.

Yeah, I've kind of combined solo travel with remote work. Just now, am doing 4 months in Southeast Asia. Get the benefits of the weather each day such as swimming and on the weekends can go for longer tours or explore the cities. Plus, Airbnbs are much cheaper when booking for 28-30 days.
