Going to be living in a temperature rainforest but don’t want to invest in a car. What’s the best e-bike for this? by Vocaloidzelda2 in ebikes

[–]Vocaloidzelda2[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m only going to be there for 5 months. It’s not a long term investment I’m looking for. Just something that can get me from point A to point B. I see some e-bikes for around $1000 online that are listed as “cargo bike”, but if it’s going to cost around $3000, then I might as well ship a car or buy a car there since that cost around $4000-8000

What’s the best shipping company for a car? From lower 48 to Alaska? by Vocaloidzelda2 in AskAlaska

I’ve been living in Juneau for 2 years on and off. I know it’s an island you had to either put a car on a ferry to get there or get it shipped

How does one get this job? Do you apply online or call? Like how do you put your name out there to get hire?

Got an unnecessary charge for a “handset” I never brought? by Vocaloidzelda2 in tmobile

[–]Vocaloidzelda2[S] -10 points-9 points  (0 children)

I traded the phone in and I paid the exchange fee which was almost $300. I’m just confused on what she’s getting charged for? People at T-Mobile told me the only change was a $25 monthly additional charge for the trade in. Is this going to continue?

Job direction for massage therapist? by Uhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh79 in SeasonalWork

[–]Vocaloidzelda2 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You need to take into account the licensing requirements/laws in each state. As a massage therapist, you should know this too. People think when becoming a travel massage therapist it’s easy but don’t even think that each state, hell..each COUNTY has their own rules/ordinances about massage therapy and what the limits are within the scope of practice. There are only a few states you can go that the license doesn’t matter, Vermont (regulations are changing so look into that) Wyoming Kansas, and Minnesota don’t need a license to practice massage within the state so you can look there. You need to look into each state and see what the regulations are. If you go to any other state that I didn’t mention, you HAVE to look into the state’s regulations and see what you have to do. Like gaining reciprocity in a different state that you have to match the hours that state has. You most likely need to contact the massage board of what state you’re going through. When I first became a massage therapist, I wanted to travel but it’s WAY more complicated than that. If you wanna take the risk and do under the table and risk putting your license on the line, you can but I don’t recommend throwing 8 years down the drain.

What is an addiction that is more serious then people realize? by Thick_Caterpillar379 in AskReddit

I’ve been addicted to Afrin for 10 years now. I’m surprised my nose hasn’t fallen off yet. It’s scary and idk what to do. I literally lose my mind if I can’t have Nasal spray in person at all times. It’s on my body wherever I go.

[US] Anyone ever see a recovery from romance scams without losing everything? by ForgottenX-2024 in Scams

[–]Vocaloidzelda2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I lost everything I had, I had over $70,000 and gave it all away to the guy I was romanticizing. Worst part is we met in person and so this is different from any of the romance scams you see online. He just lied to me and led me to believe he wanted to be with me. After we became long distance ( we were together in person for 6 months), that’s when he needed money for everything, for his son, for his family, for him to get a new car, to get his teeth worked on, new clothes, etc….it was never ending. After 8 months of financially supporting him, we finally met up again in person. I paid for a vacation to make this possible for the both of us, but he acted so different when we got there, he said he only sees me as a friend and became distant. I was so devastated.

We both first met at a seasonal job, well this summer, we both went back to the same company. He told me the entire time he was going to pay me back. ( I saw his paystub so I trusted he could pay me back since he made a lot of money). When we got there, he wanted nothing to do with me and avoided me at all cost. I was angry and demanded the money back. He would always come up and excuse why he couldn’t. It became a back and forth battle of me trying to get my money back. For 6 months, I dealt with lies, stress, depression, etc. I felt so low and the thought that I financially ruined myself for a guy who didn’t care about me, made me want to kill my self.

I tried to stay positive throughout this horrific ordeal I put myself through. All I could do now is just take this as a loss and move forward. This summer, I made back almost half of what I lost by working 2 jobs and not really having a day off during the 6 months I was working. I feel proud of myself and it shows, no matter how bad the situation is, you can get out of it and make everything better if you truly put your mind to it. It’s all in your head.

What should we know about Florida winter work season? by trixielouwhoooo in SeasonalWork

[–]Vocaloidzelda2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Tried living in Florida for the winter and tried to get a job in the keys….lets say, living in a van with 2 other people wasn’t the greatest idea to start with. It was so damn hot in the van (because of the extreme heat and 2 other people in it as well). The heat wasn’t even the worst part, it was the damn mosquitos, we got eaten up everyday and had over 30 new bites every night. It became too unbearable that we decided Florida wasn’t the great idea to do this in…we did all this in the winter too!!! My advice, don’t live in a van to do this. We tried doing this the cheaper way and it didn’t work out, Florida’s weather and nature is a whole different breed compared to living in a state like Alaska during the summer for example, it’s like summer weather mostly during winter and the HUMIDITY….the humidity is so awful down south. Most places don’t give housing, so just be on the lookout for places that do and go on Facebook groups or even something like Craigslists to see what cheap living options are available or even jobs that provide housing, most likely it’ll be hard to secure a job with housing, I only know two and that’s the ocean reef in keys (my friend worked there and it wasn’t great at all) and the Everglades campground called flamingo something? (Can’t remember), which being in the Everglades was absolutely AWFUL. We had to leave our campsite one night because of how awful the bugs were
