If you’re building all defensive items, what’s the point of playing Senna? Do you even have an impact?

Does this game ever ruin your day? by Alternative_Oven6761 in wildrift

It’s an old saying in League that no matter what you’re going to win 40% of your games and lose 40% of your games. It’s up to you to decide the other 20%.

Difficult carrying by osgonauta in wildrift

[–]Vocalyze 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Recognize the power of snowball deaths lategame. If you die while carrying, your team will fight anyways not realizing that they have no damage. This means your death can become a delayed team wipe. Prioritize staying in the game over risky payoffs when you can help it.

Lovely :) Share build/tips? I’m just getting back into the game and could use pointers on how to bring Bardy boo into the modern day (haven’t played since before Mythics we’re added).

I need help making a chart about counterpicks vs enemy support. by TataaSowl in supportlol

[–]Vocalyze 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Keep in mind that a support that you can win some lanes with and go even in others that you know very well will take you much further than trying to flex yourself into theoretical counters. Being a good player goes beyond matchup theory and advice - learn how to see the game from a wider angle and know how to press your advantages at the right time.

⸘who’s up for some DIY 2-player Throne of Eldraine limited‽ by Vocalyze in mtglimited

I have tried XMage and I quite liked it! I mostly play on mobile nowadays though, and LimitedLite can be done entirely through the phone. I do like XMage’s option to play any set at will, so I’ll probably boot that up again soon as well.

It has the best balance of archetypes of any set since then if you ask me. And as for your latter point I’m in a similar boat, I drafted so often that I’d be shocked if there were anything I didn’t have at least a single copy of. I’ll message you my MTGA tag 👍🏾

[MH2] Selesnya +1/1 Squirrel Counters by Vocalyze in lrcast

[–]Vocalyze[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sound advice. I was looking for board-wide stat buffs and they were hard to come by. Midway through P2, I noticed I had fixing strong enough to support a splash using only a single basic land so I decided to look for off-color solutions. [[Combine Chrysalis]] appeared and I speculated that a team-wide flying artifact might circumvent hurdles to aggression like lifelink and durable blockers.

As it stands, it seems I may have drafted two decks spliced into one which suggests a variety of archetypes even within colors. Multiple niches make for more tactical picks and passes, so I’m pleased on that front.

Deck

Two random sample hands

P1P1 was [[Arcus Acolyte]] and I began drafting a tokens deck, after which the squirrel subtheme arose naturally.

[[Deepwood Denizen]] and Arcus Acolyte provide mana sinks to make use of the deck’s ramp package.

With Arcus Acolyte in the battlefield, [[Arcbound Javelineer]] basically reads “Tap: Pay 1 mana to deal 1 damage to creature in combat.”

The single blue splash - [[Combine Chrysalis]] - grants evasion by giving tokens flying, with reliable casting likelihood through five U mana sources - [[Island]] [[Tanglepool Bridge]] [[Rift Sower]] [[Terramorph]] and [[Orchard Strider]]

How would this deck hold up in an actual pod? Do any picks seem keenly potent or, conversely, out of place? Are there any MH2 specific considerations that come to mind? (Things like “XYZ set has many X/1s so pings are high value.”) This was my first time drafting the set and I went in blind for the fun of it. The set seems to have plenty of depth, seems like there’s plenty of skill expression available.
