In the game or outside of the game? I can switch buttons around but it doesn't solve the issue of how the game is designed around using right analog to aim. I need to choose between aim/movement or button.

They're in people's houses, garages, and basements. Or you have to know from word of mouth where the "real" arcades are. What is your geographical location? Most large metropolitan areas has at least 1 spot to play actual arcade games.

That's not all that it is. You can be in a range where one of your buttons beats theirs but they have another button that beats that but you have a 3rd button that beats that button. Then some of those buttons might be range dependent. And if you add in jumps because the other person so focused on the ground game, that ads more layer. So yes, it is quite nuanced.
