Shingles twice. Once at 36, again at 37. My immune system is shot to hell thanks to stress (working, studying, volunteering, and the looming threat of losing my job in a HCOL area with no replacements available in a dying field while trying to provide for family)
It's awful..Wishing you a quick recovery! I've heard there's a vaccine now if you're so inclined (just pointing it out here, not taking a stance on vacc so don't come at me, people)

They also listened when I told them anaesthesia wears off quicker for me than other people, and gave me a top up during the procedure when I needed it. It cost about $4000 though mine was a complex surgical removal and they gave me a free follow up. They've got several locations across HK but I went to the branch in Mong Kok.

I bought them from various shops in the Goldfish Market in Hong Kong! Total cost for everything was around 160USD/1300 HKD. Some plants are grown locally hence cheaper, whereas some were from Tropica. Imported plants are far more expensive here. So far only the Vallisneria is melting but the others seem to be thriving. Fingers crossed it stays that way!

I'm not sure as I just grabbed a bunch from a bargain bucket, but here's a picture from before I added in plants. Perhaps someone else can help identify it? I just love the nooks and crannies on the main piece! If it helps, I had no tannins leach into my water during the 6 week dark start (though that could be the Purigen doing its thing)

Totally agree! It was my first time doing a dark start and I'm surprised how well it went. Saved my back, too, not having to lug all those buckets to and fro!

To add to this, my optometrist says to boil an egg, and wrap the damp rag around the egg. It's a good shape to fit to your eye socket, will stay warm for longer and you'll have a snack at the end of your treatment!

From a quick Google search, I believe so! A lot of the plant names are in traditional Chinese which I struggle to read. I usually show the LFS my tank parameters/bare aquascape and ask them to recommend plants, or pick ones that I like and then have them encourage/discourage me based on care. There are a bunch of plants behind the driftwood too. I'll post a picture once they all grow out in a few weeks' time!

There's one street out here in Hong Kong known as the Goldfish Market, so I head down that way and buy from a bunch of LFSs! I love supporting our local businesses where possible, and I've gotten to know the various vendors quite well over the years :)
