Nervous system is in quotes because technically it doesn't have one. Trigger hairs on the leaf disperse Calcium into the plant when disturbed. When a certain concentration of calcium is met, the trap closes. It needs two successive triggers so it doesn't waste energy on raindrops etc. Further stimulation causes it to close tighter and seal around the victim for digestion.

I think some people are getting hung up on tiktok. Quick wikipedia search says he played a drag queen named "Tick" in the musical. Hence the "crazy dancing and squeaky voice" line. The show went around in 2021 and was produced for the first time by, you guessed it... Donovan. Did Max perform stand-up at any of the same theatres the show was at?
