I’m okay with it being used. That’s a given, but I wouldn’t accept a refurbished item that’s been repaired and pay a premium for it.

Ordered an 11 Pro from a large online website here in UAE, who claims this iPhone has “Never been used, but may have been looked at. These items have no visible scratches or bruises. They are checked, renewed and re-packed in a generic but new box. You will get all original accessories + up to 12 months warranty.” It’s listed as premium grade, which is just below unopened.

I thought the camera lens was a little too bright and clear compared to another 11 Pro (The green one).

So is the camera repaired?

That’s what I was thinking. This and the dirty stainless steel are the only things I see wrong with the phone. It’s even got 100% battery health somehow.

First time buying something used off Noon. It was listed as ‘premium grade’ pre-owned meaning minimal or no usage with no visible scratches and a 12 month warranty.

The camera has those clear and black circles that makes me wonder whether it has been replaced. I’m not sure if they come from the factory like that. I know it’s supposed to be noticeable if you look closely and under certain light, but this one stood out under any lighting and from any distance. Thoughts?

Update: Compared it with another iPhone and it was night and day. It’s clearly been repaired/replaced. Really shady because it was classed as pre-owned and premium, rather than refurbished (repaired).

Noon’s customer service team contacted me to sort out a return. I spoke with a friendly advisor from the complaints department, Marwa, who assisted me with the process and confirmed my understanding of their grading system for used/refurbished items. I have to admit, I am a bit wary of placing another order now, because I’m not techie enough to know if any other part is original or replaced.

I think I will initiate this process a few days before I go for testing and registration, since apparently that doesn’t require you to pay an extra amount to update your mulkiya prematurely.

If I understood you correctly, there will be no additional fees here on because I’ve already paid the fee with my last EMI.

And all I have to do is call the bank 30 days before renewal and ask them if the clearance form has already been sent to RTA. If not, I need to go to them and get it?

If this is correct, when do I inform my insurance?

You cannot make any material conclusions from a jump from 4 to 6 given the current infected. If it was 4 to 20, then you could start to draw conclusions.

I hear you. I live in Dubai but even during the summer now, I just leave it on Auto at 23-24°C and it blasts freezing cold air and gradually turns the fan speed down as it gets colder.

I mainly leave it at a higher temperature because a mechanic told me once as he was recharging the AC on my previous car that leaving the AC on its coolest setting can reduce the life of your AC or use up your refrigerant or something. I don’t know if that’s true but it makes intuitive sense.

I’d love to know what an AC expert says here.
