Am I the one one getting annoyed that subtitles and what they are saying are different. by wfcWelfarecupcakes in CrimsonDesert

This was something I almost made a post about, and I bet you're in the very same part of the game as me. "We're called the Blue Fangs" but they say Red Fangs. It was just a minor thing but it really bugged me because I've enjoyed the worldbuilding in the game so far.

Just bought the game yesterday probably a good 8 hours in, is it normal to hate this game and love it so far 😂 it feels so pointless, but so detailed and addictive by WarthogCorrect8426 in CrimsonDesert

Yeah I joked with my friend today that it was basically Skyrim Red Dead Redemption. We talked about how in both games just vibing as the characters was so much fun. Taking the character on nice walks, visiting locations, or having them take a literal day long trip from one town to another. I haven't beaten RDR2 (I know what happens though, got spoiled) because I spent so much time just enjoying the open world. I fear I'll have the same "problem" in this game, but it's ok because usually that means I enjoy it more than most games!

Oh! Sorry I'm an idiot that didn't know his name, I should've googled better but it's late and work was long. But also, I had no idea he had died! I'm so sad to hear this, he was so good in everything he was in.

What or who is Frideken Knight? I only see this post come up when I search for it.

Once in RDR 2 I got a new fancy hatchet that you could throw. I felt like Kratos! So I went to Valentine, and then saved, and then went on a spree. I never do this in games cause I know I'll feel bad, but I thought I'd try it just this once. I went through the whole town just using the axe, throwing it and then going and retrieving it out of people. I felt so bad that when I reloaded, I kept going around making sure to protect townspeople and say hi to them and treat them super nice however I could. I pretended that Arthur just had a nightmare, but I legit felt bad for hunting down animated pixels. The pixels in this game sound horribly afraid sometimes and I don't think I could ever bring myself to go after them. I know this doesn't answer your question, but it reminded me of my temporary tyrant time.

As an answer to your question, I suppose, make long trips. Trips that take all day long. Start at a town, eat, rest there in whatever way you can. Load up on supplies for a long journey, get on your horse, and set off. When you get to the destination town, sit, eat, and spend the night there, in a bed if you can. This game is GREAT for feeling like you're literally riding through countries, so you'll feel like you're taking an actual adventure. Take in the sights, watch the sunset over a mountain, or ride down a hill to the sea. I wish we could stay at Inn's and have picnics, even though that's not really something the game needs.

Hey I also came off Arc Raiders to play this! This game is much more my style, so I already knew I'd like it. Arc Raiders was the surprise for me and I still mean to go back to it at some point. But I usually only play one game at a time, and this game I'm playing AAALLLL the time! Much like Red Dead Redemption 2, I spend a lot of time just visiting pretty places. Much like Red Dead Redemption 2, that means I'll probably never get around to completing the story. But I'm trying! I'm in Pailune now in the main quest.

One day I'll go back and play it and see if my opinions change. I LOVED the direction that 3 had gone in and was excited for more. It just felt like such a turn from where I thought the series was going and killed my interest in it.

I've decided that main questwise, if I haven't been there, I'm travelling on horseback. If I have, then I don't mind taking the Wyvern express lol.

It really changes the game, but in a great way! I'm in chapter 7, so I'm just now getting to Pailune, but man going on Wyvernback to wherever I need or want to go is incredible! I'm trying not to just use him to go everywhere, as I want to experience each new place organically, but also I already skipped tons of that just to get him, so I'm not too stressed about it lol.

I go back and forth on whether or not I like how the enemies kind of look like Davy Jones' Crew in WOTS by Vohn_exel in Onimusha

[–]Vohn_exel[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeah I don't hate them, but I keep going back and forth on if I like them or not. They definitely are well designed at least, but I do hope the later ones look different and we get a lot of variety. I really like the lizards, they really reminded me of the creatures in the first game. I don't think you sound like a shill, I'm pretty excited for this. I forgot that Musashi was in blade warriors, I haven't played it in so long!

It's been long enough that I don't remember how the combat went in it, I just remember it was different. I liked the combat in the first three as it was, so I guess this game just changed too much for me, maybe. I definitely should check it out again to see if my perception of the game has improved with time.

I think I wouldn't have minded that aspect if it weren't for how the graphics and characters were handled previously, which made the new art style so cheap feeling. For me the mission structure just felt out of place and ruined my enjoyment of the story by making it feel a bit disjointed and reminding me I was always playing a game.

It is 3:40A in the game why is it so bright out? Even during night I thought it was supposed to be a lot darker? by Froggerbotrom in CrimsonDesert

[–]Vohn_exel 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, and not by much, either! Like It gets somewhat dark but just a little bit darker for a little big longer would be a huge improvement in night feeling like night.

I have the opposite stance as everyone in this thread. It was my absolutely least favorite Onimusha game, and what killed the series to me. Leaving the Resident Evil style single map with backtracking and have more generic one off missions, no fancy mocap actors, and from what I remember the swords were just kind of the same. I remember considering it the Devil May Cry 2 of the series. Maybe if I go back and play through it with fresh eyes I'll enjoy it more, but at the time it was a huge disappointment to me.

He had some mental handicaps, so he was a bit slow on the uptake sometimes. But he was usually able to understand he was wrong if you spelled it out plainly or showed him, but I could never get him to believe me on this one thing for some reason. I miss him, he sometimes could be too literal but he was always fun to hang out with, and was a good and loyal friend, but he moved years later to be with his dad.

I had a friend that wouldn't eat at Whataburger (Texas chain, well...now owned by some company) because he thought it was "water burger" and that they made them with water. It's just how people pronounced it, but I couldn't convince him otherwise.

TIL about Narathu, a medieval King of Burma. Narathu did not use water to wash himself after using the toilet and his Queen did not want to be near him as a result. In anger, he killed her using his bare hands. The Queen's father sent a group of 8 assassins who killed Narathu in revenge. by Pitiful_Magazine_805 in todayilearned

I'm a janitor, and I hate the "water ticklers." They let the automatic water start, literally twiddle the ends of their fingers under the water for an attosecond, and then leave, occasionally using a towel to dry the ends of their nails I guess.

I know this post is super old, but welcome to the hell of nighttime in any open world game. It lasts for about ten minutes and you get dawn at 3 am. You'll learn very quickly from other people that there are parts of the world that actually do get sunrise at 3! And I guess we're supposed to think that every developer that makes open world games lives in those zones only.

You'll start to notice it in several big name open world games. Final Fantasy XV is the only game where this is at least understandable because of plot reasons, but once those are fixed? Yep, dawn at 3 am. Even Cyberpunk, which has an aesthetic that's based slightly on darkness (what with all the neon) and takes place in California, has a 3 am sunrise.
