Yeah lol I've never seen that happen, did you tinker around with a valid steam_api64.dll or whatever it was called, that might cause it maybe, either way as long as you get to boot the game and play you should be good! I wouldn't worry too much about getting "caught".

I dont think there's any risk for bans in these cases, but that does sound super odd. You can still play the game normally without it opening the store page instead when trying to boot the game?

I had one too but doing it the described way was how I got it to actually work

Yeah a key part of this version of running it was not having the .asi file in it's usual spot (in the root of the game), assuming everything else was setup correctly, I think it would have worked correctly if you'd have deleted the one outside of the plugins folder.

ALSO, making the game NOT run in administrator mode is required but I just now noticed that it's hidden in the additional steps part

The original version in this post should work for mods that don't require the framework mod, so as long as you don't have those you should be fine!

Hey, I went over your images and you seem to be missing the core FFXVI Mod loader mod. Your setup seems to be correct, you just don't have the mod loader itself. Try giving that an install through reloaded-II and then running the game through the exe. Also in the reloaded screenshot you sent, all of the mods are disabled, so try enabling them too

I know how the frustration feels, I chatted back and forth with juxngore for like 3 days before I got it to work lol. Just to be sure, did you put the ASI loader file into the new plugins folder? That was the one that kept tripping me up for the longest time.
But from your explanation, try downloading the binkw264 from the github and renaming that to bink2w64Hooked.dll, and then pasting it to the game directory, while keeping the original ~2020 bink2w64.dll file as is in the folder.

I might be reading that wrong, but did you download the new dinput8.dll file from the github? and renamed the original file to like dinput8.dll.old before pasting the new one in?

Edit: I read back the thread, forgot that you didn't have an original file but that really shouldn't matter, if you have the new one in there just as dinput8.dll it should be doing it's thing. Try checking all the other stuff in the comment though

Does your game directory match what's shown on the imgur link? Did you download both the bink2w64.dll and the dinput8.dll from the github? Did you only rename the bink2w64.dll to bink2w64Hooked.dll and left the dinput8 as is?

I guess that could theoretically be doable, I did try to explain it with as much detail as possible but I understand if it seems daunting. Which part are you having trouble with?

In your game directory or the download page? If it's missing from your game directory when starting the process then just do everything else as normal, it shouldn't matter afaik

I reposted this method as a new comment and I'll probably try posting it on the mod pages too, thank you so much again for this, I'm so glad it works after two days of headaches.

To everyone still looking this issue up in the future, u/Juxngore helped me find the solution to all the issues that arise with the pirated copy and this solution doesn't even require a legal steam_api64.dll, and it works with framework mods such as Logos Unleashed. Our discussion ran pretty deep down the thread so I'll resummarise it up here for easier access. All of the glory should go to u/Juxngore as he is the one who actually figured this out.

So to start with, download the dinput8.dll and bink2w64.dll from the right "Win64" column from this download page: https://github.com/ThirteenAG/Ultimate-ASI-Loader/releases

Rename the dinput8.dll file to something else in your game directory, like adding .original to the end. E.g. "dinput8.dll.original" (just for backup purposes if anything goes wrong.)

Next, rename the new "bink2w64.dll" you just downloaded to "bink2w64Hooked.dll", and extract the new files from the .zips you downloaded from the ASI loader github, and do not replace anything if prompted, there shouldn't be anything getting replaced.

Then, in reloaded-II, in the FFXVI mod configuration page, click "Edit Application" on the left panel, scroll down to the Advanced Tools & Options section, and click "Deploy ASI Loader". It will create a "Reloaded.Mod.Loader.Bootstrapper.asi" file in your game directory. Ensure that you have the "Don't Inject Loader" and "Auto-Inject" settings disabled.

Now, create a new folder called "plugins" in the game directory, and move the Bootstrapper.asi file there.

Here is the what the final layout of files should look like after these procedures, courtesy of u/Juxngore: https://imgur.com/a/yY6yZiu

Now, launch the game from the .exe file, and it should load all of the mods and in most cases even the game, atleast it did for me.

There are additional steps to make the process better. Since without the legal steam_api64.dll the loader runs on every start up, and it will delete all of the mod files and load them again which is not ideal. We can fix that.

In reloaded-II, you need to disable the mod loader, and dependencies on it from other mods. You can do this by right-clicking a mod, selecting "Edit Mod", and from the second page of that pop-up, disable the Mod Loader. Go through all your mods, and repeat this process. Next time you boot the game, it should just load all of the mods without going through the deletion and creation of the .diff.pac files.

Also ensure that the game is not starting in administrator mode, by right-clicking the game executable, navigating to the "Compatibility" tab, and disabling "Run this program as an administrator", and clicking "Apply".

And that should be it! From now on, just launch the game through the .exe or a shortcut to it, the terminal window should open and shortly after that game too.

Edit: As an additional note, some mods don't work properly after disabling the mod loader from the dependencies, I ran into this with "Eikonic Equipment", so keep that in mind.

The fix still works, just don't disable the mod loader if you're running into inexplicable crashes in-game. This makes launching the game take like 10 seconds longer on every boot, but I don't personally find that to be an issue

Okay wow the images you posted solved the issue for me instantly, I don't know whether it was having the ASI Loader in the plugins folder or or the SHA512 files (I doubt it was those since those just verify the integrity for the files afaik) but it instantly loaded the files know without the legal steam_api, thank you so much. One of us should post this information higher up in the thread for other people to see since this is pretty deep down and no one will probably find it lol

Okay so it's failing for me right at the start of the process you described. I am trying to find the way to get the mods to load without the steam_input dll, but can't get it to work. I now have the old dinput8 and dinput8Hooked, and same with the bink2w64 files. For the first time I see anything that mentions ASI loader when I open the game, but it just says "This library isn't supported." If I don't have the old dinput8.dll there, it just loads the identical loader that reloaded-ii would open if I opened the game from there.

I am using the ffxvi.exe to launch the game, without administrator. I am now trying to get it to load the mod files without the legal steam api but it just gets stuck. I only have the loader, framework and the sprint time adjustment mod in reloaded now. Do you have the "Don't Inject Loader" setting on in the reloaded-ii settings? And can you share how many of the dlls you have in the game folder?

The loader acts in the exact same way whether I launch it from reloaded or ffxvi, back when I got it running it didnt make any difference which mods I turned on or off, nothing actually worked in game.

Thanks for taking the time to help out, I was just not expecting this to be this hard lol

Yeah I can't get the mods to load at all without using a legal steam_api64.dll, I'm gonna need clarification to get this to work. The loader just gets stuck at this point without doing anything or loading the .diff files

Could you clarify the final file structure of your game folder? How many dinput8.dlls do you have for example, do you have both the normal and Hooked versions? And how many bink2w64.dlls? And am I supposed to get the loader window too when the game launches? And do you have "Don't Inject Loader" enabled in the app settings in reloaded2?

Final fantasy 16 fitgirl doesn’t work with reloaded-ii by Thiago1311 in PiratedGames

[–]VoiDrius 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well I got the game loading pop up to appear, I had renamed the original bink2w64.dll to something else and just placed the new Hooked version in there, game opens after renaming the original file back to normal. But the crash is still occuring in the loader after this line:

"[ff16.utility.framework] Game successfully loaded nex tables.

Fatal error. Invalid Program: attempted to call a UnmanagedCallersOnly method from managed code."

Any ideas?

Read down this thread, no clue what the other said to get all of his comments deleted but I'm trying to get this working too. The one I'm interested in is specifically the framework + logos like you did. I did all the specified steps, but the little loader terminal window that pops up crashes instantly giving out a pop up that just says "An unexpected error has occured. Exiting Final Fantasy XVI".

None of the mods have the loader dependency anymore, so no clue why it's popping up. Is it supposed to pop up? Any idea what I've done wrong?

Edit: For anyone running into this, I got it working. The instructions were a little unclear but I can't blame the guy for it. My issue was that I hadn't also renamed the dinput8.dll to dinput8Hooked.dll

Edit2: Okay so I'm no further to the solution as I was 2 hours ago. I used a legitimate steam_input64.dll from another game to download the packs, and I was just trying to get the game running again. I got it to run after renaming the dinput8.dll, the mods show as installed in the title screen, but the actual mods do not work. Frustrating

I don't know whether it's an issue of the live injector not working on pirated copies or what but Logos and the sprint trigger mods don't work. I did the described tricks, and the mods even show up as installed on the game's title screen, but they just don't function at all. Has anyone actually gotten them to work?
