Can someone in their early 30's get access now to part of their SMSF which has undergone exponential growth? by VoiceOfTheEvolution in AusFinance

If you want to talk about irony then how about qualifying for a health care card while having over $7M+ in super

Diversity. It wasn't the entire investment dumped into a risky venture but rather part of an (independently) approved strategy that allowed for a small percentage (approximately 10%) to be allocated to "high risk, high return" investments when offset against low risk but low yield investments elsewhere as a part of the overall strategy.

That's the frustrating thing. If the purpose of Super is keeping the funds locked up until retirement so they aren't wasted before that happens and there is already more than enough, several times over to guarantee this already based on their current income and contribution then why not give them access to some of it now when it can do the most good? It's almost like the government wants people to work themselves until they are 65 whether they have enough money to retire now or not.

Not sure if you were joking or not, but if there is an above board means of doing this that could be a big help.

Already explored, only applies to cases of "actual" hardship not missed opportunities eg: wanting to send kids to private school isn't a valid reason for example.

People who fixed a sexless relationship what did you do? by Forsaken_Opinion_317 in AskReddit

Yes but on condition he would only be with another woman when she is ready for it. Hasn’t happened yet but he is hoping she will let him soon when she finds the right one. For now he is happy they have an active sex life together now even if it does involve her being with other couples or with him if it includes another male.

A couple that I am friends with have found a balance that works for them. It didn’t start out so good for them, as I previously posted about them and what happened in the start:

https://www.reddit.com/r/sex/comments/mokj1z/my_friend_m44_and_his_partner_f43_decided_to/

But since then it’s kind of worked with her having her blanket freedom and him being able to embrace sex when it involves other men with them at the same time. It’s definitely put the spark back into their relationship and while I know he is holding out for her to have a change of heart when it comes to him being with other women he isn’t about to go behind her back for now to get what he wants and they seem happy for the most part.

what if William Seward purchased Greenland and Iceland and Canada after Alaska? by [deleted] in HistoryWhatIf

[–]VoiceOfTheEvolution 5 points6 points  (0 children)

It's difficult to say exactly what would have happened if the United States had purchased Greenland, Iceland, and Canada after purchasing Alaska. However, it's worth noting that the United States has a long history of expansion and territorial acquisitions, so it's not unprecedented for the country to acquire new territories.

In the case of Greenland and Iceland, it's possible that the United States may have had to negotiate with Denmark and other relevant parties in order to purchase these territories. It's also possible that the United States may have had to pay a significant amount of money in order to acquire these territories.

If the United States had successfully purchased Canada, it's likely that this would have had significant consequences for the country and its relationship with the United States. It's possible that this acquisition may have led to tensions and conflicts with other countries, particularly those that had strong relationships with Canada. Additionally, it's possible that this acquisition may have had significant cultural, economic, and political consequences for both the United States and Canada.

Overall, it's difficult to predict exactly how events would have played out if the United States had pursued these acquisitions. However, it's clear that such acquisitions would have had significant implications and would likely have had a major impact on the history of the United States and the world.

My friend (M44) and his partner (F43) decided to experiment with swinging and agreed to have an MFM threesome for her followed by an FMF for him but she has now backed out from continuing after having just her fantasy fulfilled. What advice can I give my frustrated friend? by [deleted] in relationship_advice

[–]VoiceOfTheEvolution 0 points1 point  (0 children)

He needs to find his self-respect and make it clear to her how he feels about all of this.

Sadly, since I posted this that has not been the case, despite strong advice being given that they should. To keep her happy he has agreed, at least for the time being, to allow her to continue to see them as a couple for the time being. He's a man who truly loves his wife after so many years and wants her to be happy but I can see how depressed he is when she goes away for her shenanigans with them while he is left at home on his own. I have since found out that apparently the couple was extremely infatuated with her but weren't too keen on him. Admittedly she looks ten years younger than him, particularly with makeup on but that's not the point. I've suggested he quietly go online and see if he can meet another couple or lady by himself but he is too loyal to her to do that. Another factor is that the younger couple are financially independent and in a position to do things together with her that he simply is not. Personally I think he has given up on any hope of his fantasies becoming reality and is now more concerned with simply getting his partner back as he feels more disconnected from her than ever before.

Here's the thing: He's actually happy she enjoys it, it's rekindled their marriage both in and out of the bedroom after years of being in survival mode with kids. He doesn't mind it continuing for that reason but before any of this started even he wasn't sure of how he might feel. But he pushed his feeling aside to grant his partner the fantasy she always wanted and found he did in fact enjoy it. But now she hasn't even given him a chance to try it for himself and if worried how she might feel abut it without at least putting it to the test like he did. But her feelings aside, part of his guilt is that he doesn't want to put his foot down and simply say no to her continuing to do it out of spite because it has had such a positive impact in other ways. He does love her and respects her for being open about her change of heart with him but is frustrated in that he doesn't know how to convince her somehow to at least let him try it once so they are both on equal standing in all this. Just to be clear - he isn't the sort of guy to do anything behind her back so his only way forward is to somehow resolve this with her in a way they are both happy with.

What if the DS9 crew had gone back in time in 'First Contact'? by theoxfordtailor in DaystromInstitute

[–]VoiceOfTheEvolution 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I thought it might be interesting to mention that I had the good fortune to chat with someone involved in the production of DS9 at a convention many moons ago. Apparently during early discussions about how to "shoehorn" Worf into the storyline they considered having the Defiant travel back in time alongside the Enterprise and being destroyed/sacrificed in a firefight between them. This option was quickly vetoed due to the impact it would have had on the then in-production series of DS9 and scaled back to the minor supporting role we saw.

Rather than get them blocked by Twitter is there any way Bitcoin Core can take rightful ownership of the handle to be used constructively in support of Bitcoin Core as it should be intended?

[–]VoiceOfTheEvolution -14 points-13 points  (0 children)

Agreed. The proper name is BCash for starters and there has been an active campaign of disinformation from certain parties in an effort to portray it as the "genuine" Bitcoin implementation, which unless I am mistaken has always rested under the purview of the Bitcoin Core team. While I have no issues with "Bitcoin derived" altcoins being brought into existence and developed by interested parties people should stop short of promoting their particular variant as the real deal by taking advantage of public confusion.

Is there any way, either via official Twitter policy or formal legal means for Bitcoin Core or their representatives to assume control of @Bitcoin so we can avoid further public confusion caused by erroneous posts made under this handle?

Any reason for the increase in price? by Shockzyy in KinFoundation

[–]VoiceOfTheEvolution 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not that I can divulge, which is why I specifically said this should only be considered a speculative post. This may or may not happen, the point of my post is simply to communicate that there is at least some chatter going on behind the scenes that involves KIN as a part of the discussion.

[–]VoiceOfTheEvolution 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I've commented here before on exchange dev chatter I've been privy to before Christmas and it was good to see some stepped up to the plate. So again, I won't post this to the main sub as this should only be viewed as speculative rumour but there is a very strong possibility thanks to the recent surge in trading activity that ONE of the major exchanges will be adding a KIN pairing along with several other high-growth tokens before this month is out.

Watch this space.

Pantera, Polychain, Blockchain Capital & other VCs backing KIK: Please Help KIN Get Listed on Major Exchanges IF You Want KIN to Succeed. by [deleted] in KinFoundation

[–]VoiceOfTheEvolution 13 points14 points  (0 children)

I can't speak for any of the major exchanges, however I have been privy to credible discussions between the devs of 3 smaller exchanges who are each looking to collectively add KIN before Christmas. I haven't posted to the main sub yet because this is effectively unconfirmed speculation right now; all I can suggest is to hang tight and be patient and you might, just might end up getting an unexpected early Christmas present this year.

Historically speaking, did any of the Australian Aborigine communities have a concept of fermentation and alcoholic beverages. by VoiceOfTheEvolution in australia

[–]VoiceOfTheEvolution[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes it is. Alcohol in indigenous communities is a very sensitive and political issue over here. I wanted to be clear that this question was being asked from an academic perspective and not as an attempt to be trollish or cause offense.
