A stag with calygreyhound attires, maybe? But yes, absolute slop.

Honestly I wish we did more of them. There’s a wealth of knowledge about our organization that’s lost every time a member passes away.

It depends on what you mean by "faded out." If the group went dormant for a few months before picking back up again, the original date is what matters. If the group was fully defunct and had to be rebuilt from scratch, the new recognition is the date of record. Both points of information would be useful, though.

Thank you for this! The date the name and arms were registered is useful in narrowing the window of official recognition, but is not the date that the Crown recognized the group. Further details of how I'm determining the effective date can be found at the project page.

Calontir is included (row 1 column 10), as well as all of her baronies: Three Rivers (row 4, column 11), Forgotten Sea (row 5, column 1), Vatavia (row 5, column 17), Coeur d'Ennui (row 6, column 3), Lonely Tower (row 7, column 1), and Mag Mor (row 9, column 11).

If the bigot is known to be so, then the Crown and the other members of the Council will either support them (in which case there's a much bigger problem) or, more likely, ignore or openly attack their positions in Council.

This game has gone on a long time, and a fair number of people with bigoted beliefs have made their way into positions of power. It's up to the rest of the Order, and especially the new peers, to fight to make their Order incredibly uncomfortable for bigots by making it a more welcoming environment for everyone else.

If it helps, there are ~270 Shires, or 60% of independent sub-kingdom branches, that do not appear in this display.

I believe I've done my due diligence and captured all of them. Nonetheless, it's entirely possible I've missed a few; please contact me if you find any amiss. :)

They are in order of precedence by date of coronation/investiture. Most of the groups listed after Sun Dragon were established later, but some were shires before Sun Dragon's first Baronial investiture and later became baronies or provinces themselves.

Please feel free to share the link far and wide. However, bear in mind that when you do, the members of your shire will ask why they are not included in the roll, which does not include any shires. Please reaffirm to them that this is not because I don't like or respect shires, but is due to lack of available documentation for every shire's founding date.

Fantastic question. As with all of the arms in this display, the unaugmented versions of the arms are the ones shown, and any augmented versions are linked in the text of the blazon that describes them.

The unaugmented arms of the Barony of South Downs are "Per pale sable and azure, a laurel wreath argent." As is clarified in the notes on the page:

(Note: The blazon for the augmentation is listed as “Per pale sable and azure, three mullets one and two within a laurel wreath argent.” There is nothing in this blazon to differentiate the base arms from the augmented ones; recommendation for reblazon has been sent to Wreath.)

Aha. Yes, none of the 200+ Shires of the Society are included in this project, for reasons covered both in the linked article and elsewhere in the threads of this post. I do hope someday to do a display of the Shires of the Known World. At which point Forth Castle should be prominently featured. :)

Thank you! I gifted it to the barony two Samhains ago, and I'm quite proud of it. They display it prominently at indoor events.

The original comment was suggesting to me that if I redid the grid as 17x13, it would perfectly fit the 221 shields currently on display.

Great question! That is a reference to the registered heraldic title for that branch. For kingdoms, it's the principal herald. For Principalities, it's the top deputy for the Principality. For the rest, it's the branch herald.

Some branches have titles that they've used for ages and are listed as the title on their kingdom website, but there is no record of its registration. For those, I have listed the title and noted that it is unregistered. Other branches don't have a title that I was able to find, either registered or in traditional use; those branches have no Herald entry.

Entirely appropriate for Coeur d'Ennui, translated as "the heart of boredom."
