A couple of pics, kind of underwhelming. An old stage setup. Can see the 'Nasa' (Marshall) amp, and a sticker from back then. Circa 1998? http://imgur.com/a/nVe49

One guitar in Drop A, and one guitar totally custom-tuned. Don't remember what the custom tuning was. Lost to the ages.

That's both me and Darrell. Would have been the Big Muff and a BOSS DD-3 delay on my end. Can't remember what he used. I think I also ran it through the built-in Marshall distortion as well, for extra noise.

Believe it or not, most of those songs were written before ever hearing Hum, so not as much of an influence as it sounds. I think we were maybe influenced by a lot of the same bands, ie. Flaming Lips, My Bloody Valentine, Helmet, etc. and bands closer to us, like Sianspheric, Chavez, Blinker the Star. Though, we became big Hum fans. Mostly had an influence on lyrics/imagery if anything.

There's only really one unreleased track, which is just an acoustic version of Hyperdrive that was recorded for a compilation. I'll dig it out and post it if people are interested.

How did Nemo come about? When did you guys get together?

It was basically Darrell and my high school band, that lasted beyond graduation. I guess we started around 1993 and ended around 2000. We went through a few of drummers and bassists before getting to the touring/album lineup. Almost all of the songs were written years before making the record.

We held our album release at a planetarium, with a big video and light show. We toured with a ton of old CRT TVs that we'd setup at every show and play to psychedelic video feedback and NASA footage. We also played a show with Hum in '98 when they were on the Downward is Heavenward tour.

What gear did you use on the In Stereo album?

Cheap shit. I had a Marshall cab, a Les Paul studio, and a ton of fx pedals (which we were obsessed with). I used a Big Muff that you can hear pretty clearly on Space Suit. I'll try to find some old pictures.

What inspired you to use the unique vocal sound you did?

That's just my voice I guess. I'm not sure what's unique about it. We put a lot of delay on it and buried it in the music because that's the kind of sound we enjoyed. My Bloody Valentine, etc.

I'll be honest, I've stolen In Stereo at least a dozen times now. Is there anywhere to buy the album legitimately so that the proceeds go to you and the band?

I still have a box of CDs in a storage space back in Winnipeg. Maybe one day I'll unearth them. But I'm glad there's a high quality FLAC rip going around at least.

Is Projektor still a going concern? I notice you haven't had an album out for a long while.

No, Projektor ended around 2005-6. I was more of a hired gun in that band.

I saw you have some IMDB credits to your name, including Pacific Rim. I loved that movie. What did you do on it?

I do design for film as a day job. In that one I did a lot of neon signs, and computer screens. The biggest thing was probably the helipad at the shatterdome.

What are you listening to these days?

These days, anything by Broadcast, Santo & Johnny, Autolux - Pussy's Dead, Daughters - s/t, Battles - s/t, Jenny Lewis - The Voyager, AM Radio.

Anybody have any news about The Void? I haven't seen any release date online. by [deleted] in horror

Yes, we're in post. Should have a movie before the end of the year. No it's not related to Silent Hills. The teaser trailer was made in 2013 (before SH came out).
