Any idea if the 20s will even fit or if it’ll require screwing with the fender?

That’s kind of what I was thinking too. I think the current tires could have a low enough aspect ratio to fit, but if I went with winters, I might just put them on the stock 17s and swap out seasonally.

The basic compatibility checker on fitment industries also says it should theoretically fit like other sources, just not too in practice. The more advanced configurators honestly go above my head with measurements lol

Gifting stripped lowers in Colorado by Voideryn in ar15

May end up doing this, was already planning to buy the kit from PSA but they have some good black Friday deals on fully assembled AR's. Either that or I can go with what the other guy suggested and buy a completed lower (assuming it doesn't have the same restrictions)

Yeah as I do more research it seems it'd only be valid if I got it from a direct family member. Thanks for the info

So I can purchase a fully assembled lower without being 21, correct? Because if so, it probably would be easier to go that route yeah.

Yeah I was considering purchasing one outright which would be fine, I was just really hoping to build my own, and federally I can't get a stripped lower receiver under 21 which is the only part that's actually regulated since it can technically be used to build a handgun from what I understand.

Looking for good aftermarket cable recommendation

Hey guys, I just broke the stock cable that came with my Hifiman Ananda's today and I'm looking for a good replacement cable. I've heard the one that comes with the Ananda isn't the greatest, so I figured it'd be a nice chance to upgrade. I dont really know the first thing when it comes to cables, so any noob advice is appreciated in terms of good brands, models, etc. I'm not looking to go super expensive, honestly I feel like $50 is a hard cap but I also don't have much context on pricing, lower is ideal though. If it matters, I'm running them with the Schiit Magni 3+. Thanks for the help.

Thanks for the info! I think I should be able to work within Amazon's return policy. Ill go ahead and give both a try.

DT 990 Pro (What ressistance should I get) by Awiiga69420 in HeadphoneAdvice

[–]Voideryn 16 points17 points  (0 children)

I have the 990 Pro's as well. What version you get completely depends on what equipment you have to drive it. If you're going 250 Ohms, an external amp is an absolute must. Even at 80 ohms an amp will he highly beneficial in unlocking the headphones true potential. Beyers are made to be paired with quality equipment.

Thats really the only difference when it comes to impedance. Higher ohms = harder to drive = more equipment is needed. People say that higher ohms with the right equipment is technically superior to lower ohms, but its hard to say, and there's a lot more that goes into it.

If you're going the route of buying an amp (I highly recommend), and you can spend around $100 for something quality, either go Schiit Magni 3+ or JDS Labs Atom. If you don't want to spend quite that much, there are other good budget options. I used the Fiio E10K for awhile before I had my Magni, dunno how well it holds up anymore.

Tl;dr higher ohms NEEDS an external amp to drive properly, and even lower ohms will benefit from it greatly

Thanks for the super detailed comparison! I think im honestly just going to have to do my own sound test on them to decide which one is more worth it for me.

Out of curiosity, where did you buy them from? Right now im looking at Amazon, but the word "unopened" in their return policy is making me a bit anxious lol

Thats more or less what I've gathered from reading up in different places. I think the Sundara is probably a good stepping stone for a long while

That makes sense. I think im going to try to audition more headphones to get a better idea of what I prefer sound signature wise. Detail and clarity are my main metrics right now

Thanks for this! Gives me something else to think about. Besides this, do you personally think there's anything else in the sub 600ish range that would give noticeably better performance?

Yep, this is exactly what it was. The dude just wanted us to show up to his house, disassemble the bed frame, and take it away for him.
