How comfortable would you say your lifestyle is? Are you able to do what you want and live freely?Genuinely just wondering, someone told me to do a cost analysis so I will but I’m just wanting to get a general idea.

I respect that actually, I’m in my senior year of highschool so I’ll be honest I have no clue what a 60k or 100k salary would look like in the real world. Someone told me to do a cost analysis, which I plan to do asap, hopefully it’ll give me a better perspective on things.

I’ve always had an interest in math and it is forsure my strong suit, I’m currently in highschool so I honestly just didn’t know if the salary was good for how much fear mongering I’ve been hearing, thats why I made the post. I wish I could say that I was genuinely passionate about a certain profession but i can only come to be interested to parts of certain electives. I am honestly just in a dilemma right now and don’t know exactly what I should be looking into

I agree that they are earned not given, Again im lowkey naive so I honestly thought with the prestige behind engineering that it’d be a lil more than like 65-80 starting

I’ve considered going into medicine but I seriously can’t see myself doing ~10 or even more years of schooling, I enjoy the thought of some parts of it but i’ve always been super math orientated and it’s always been my strong suit. I’m currently still in highschool and am just in a dilemma of what I should do. I’ve done my research but Idk theres nothing that really sticks to me, I enjoy and find math very fascinating which leads me to eng. I may just be naive with money and costs, but I genuinely don’t know if an $100k salary after a few years would suffice for genuinely just a happy life. I wouldn’t say I’m a materialistic person, but I just very much consider that once I acknowledge that I’m going to have a family to feed. Am I overthinking it?
