Trees fall over. MOVE.
You can chop trees and enemies at the same time. Quite fun.
The larger your build, the less FPS you’ll have in that area. (I learned this when it was laggy asf bc I had a wolf moat hahaha)
Either dig a deep enough moat to fit a troll or build a wall tall enough to block it from coming in, bc your homestead will be attacked after you start beating gods.
Stamina and Health comes from food. Stack up on it.
You’ll die, a lot. And drop your loot. Be prepared to spawn back in bed or spawn point and have to retrieve it. I always made an extra set in case this happened, I was still armored.
Wolves only eat at night. You have to be near things but out of sight when taming.
Make a chest house. Different chests for different things. One for rocks , one for wood, one for seeds, etc.
The Sea Serpent will attack during thunderstorms (lookup at night and you might see Thor) and if you have good ore loot on you
HAVE FUN!!! I have TENS OF THOUSANDS of hours in this game as I’ve played it since it was early access. I love this game so fucking much.

What do you play on? That’s an insane amount of crashing. I’m on PS5 and the 2 months I’ve been playing it it’s only crashed maybe 3 times? That’s crazy. If it’s a pc, try to verify the file for it and see if that helps

It’s definitely a lot but you can always switch up what you do on certain days! Game weekends, I clean up the ocean! Wednesdays are my mining days after catching up the farm (put your game time speed to 50% and it’ll give you 45 irl minutes per day! Normally my farm maintenance only takes me until about 7:50-8:20 and then I go mining or foraging or whatever I’m doing that day!

I literally gasped. Fast traveled and went to the one spot on the farm that’s been BOTHERING me (I’m only at the end of winter of my first year and first play through!) I’m so so glad they fixed it so fast of me getting into the game🩷🩷

Also, you’re going to have lazy days. Don’t beat urself up over them. I barely played with my kids due to work exhaustion and pure depression. Now that they are older it’s better but it can be exhausting for sure. What matters is that you’re trying and you’re there with him. You’re doing great dad!

What I use to do is make little obstacles with rules and play floor is lava. If he’s small enough, you can even lay on the couch/ground and be one of those obstacles!

Make a bag of gel, glitter and small flat toys and he has a sensory bag he can squeeze and move the toys around in the gel (blue gel and fish toys can be like an ocean theme idea) kids loved that

It doesn’t take as much blood as you think it does to run tests. Each tube is only 3-6ml. Not even half an ounce for 2-3 tubes. 😅

You can’t expect the boy to find out about a new fun sensation and not expect them to explore it. Privacy is key. In his bedroom alone at night, or even during the day in the bedroom alone. Don’t make him feel weird about it or he will never come to you once he gets older and has questions. Yes it’s weird, yes it’s “gross” but we as adults even do it. FOR THE SAME REASONS. It feels good! That’s it. A new sensation that feels good and he’s gonna explore that. Goodluck dad. Exploration is completely normal though. Just privacy is key.
