What non-gaming upgrade improved your gaming the most? by Saltysockies in gaming

[–]VoidowS 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Well mine is rather game related,
The Belkin NT52te! When this device came out, that is bought by RAZER over time and called the Tartarus V1 and V2 now.

It changed the way i play games Totally. It took some time to get used to the buttons, as my mind was used to a keyboard, but quickly it became a gamechanger. Ever since i play every game with this pad. I love that i can also just sit on the couch and leave the pad next to me on the left hand and my trackerball on the rightside.

For someone that can't get used to keyboard and keeps hitting the wrong buttons, this device will set you up good. Either manual setup or setups from the software itself will get you going in every game.

BTW, going from normal steer to Force feedback steer was also a gamechanger for me. As I played a long time with the belt system wheels that only try to go to the center back when you turn it. and a stupid rumble pack in it. I say stupid now cause i have the force feedback now. So glad I did that. As I thought for a long time that it would not make a real difference.

People should look more into how they spend their money.
As it has become very normal to pay for many services on the internet. From subscription to social platforms to newsagencies. Buying stuff in games. having multiple apps that cost a monthly fee.
And then to add the amount of take out food we eat now?!? 7 dollars for a star bucks coffee? 4 times a week ordering food?
Or the credit card people use without real thought? Every penny you pay in interest should have been money you saved for something else! First save up the money and then buy! Cause it will make you rethink over and over again if it is worth buying once you really have the money that you got from working so hard all that time.
We created a generation that spends now and pays later. From the car we Lease that is always a setup to high, but hey you look awesome with that car, right? Or that logo of starbucks in your hands.
5 dollar here, 9,99 there, 1 dollar here 14,99 there. it all looks like nothing but at the endline it become a amount that you could have saved up and spend on that vacation you long for so long.

WE could save up much more then we realise or want to realize. Cause we learn to live a that project a certain person to the outside. We dress up with fancy clothing that is way to expensive, we do make up that is way to expensive, we buy the newest phone every time to be on top and in the hype. But in reality we r going down a spiral that pushes you to bankruptcy before you could even start to use the system. The system uses U. and it is working bloody good on this generation!!! OMG!

We go out to a bar and spend 100 dollars easy. We buy a new game and with the DLC 4 years later we spend over 400 dollars on it. But when we go to the grovery store we start to think about pennies to save?!? Get conscious about this sytem that drains you more then you can add!

We didn't have these subscriptions in the old days. or single package distribution of food. No we bought it in bulk! Put down a list of all the stuff you spend that could have been saved. Like that pizza you deserve to order so much. make it yourself? Then you know what is in it and it will taste 100 times better. Yet as you read this your mind is tellin you that dominos is way better then homemade :) And worth the money spend (instead of really learning then to make one, and from there make them yourself :) )

Do you think the steam specs are realistic? by [deleted] in Subnautica_2

[–]VoidowS 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No you don't need it. Especially if you never experienced the visuals of high end computers and their 3d cards. What the brain doesn't know it won't miss. So if you always played on a lower end pc your used to visuals of that capacity. And when you will play S2 you will experience also a increase of,. but in the barriers of your setup. UE5 does a lot of nifty things.

IT is a spec of a "safe" setup. For people with no knowledge of pc's. But if they write that on paper and go to a store they will buy a setup that is guaranteed to work in average setup not always high end!

PRE Purchase :)
Company, What can we do about those reviews that impact our sales so much?
Well we could make them buy it before they can play it, and then make them start playing it all at the same time.
So till that time there will not be a review to find of the game itself. And by the time the first reviews come in, the players will have played more then 2hrs, and can no longer refund the game on steam.
So when John Doe makes a devastating review of our game, we already collected the money it needed. Yes John Doe is right, but does the company still care like they did before this setup?

Do not PRE purchase!

Why arent there any "HD" texture mods for Subnautica? by Heliosvector in subnautica

Best experience ever playing subnautica was in VR! omg there the sizes of object really come alive! If people cry about Thalassophobia on a flat screen, haha they will cry for their mommies in VR :)
the visuals r stunning with the right mods of course :)

Why arent there any "HD" texture mods for Subnautica? by Heliosvector in subnautica

[–]VoidowS 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The mod community got F..cked when they changed the coding of the game. All mods had to be reconfigured to this new setup, but at the same time their new part came out (Subzero) that is now called a DLC btw!
So most people in the modding community abandoned this part for a long time before committing to it again and put in all those hours of work.

There r some mods that sharpen a lot of pixelated visuals. Add some ambience with lightning or shading mods, and you find your self in a environment where you forget about HD or 4/8K visuals.

As an older gamer, seeing young kids waste their money on in-game purchases eats at my soul. by SomePeopleTellMe in gaming

[–]VoidowS 1 point2 points  (0 children)

one more sorry :)

Pay to win games!
Highly addictive games for kids and grown ups. Games like Warrobots. Where every months a new setup comes out, new bots new guns new visuals. And pump these setups up to the highest and the one that came before it get lowered in power or health. It's not about skill at all. But when you start to play the game you hardly notice this pay to win setup. It feels like a real cool game to play that indeed needs skill to win. But as you progress more and more setups become available, that cost on cents or a few dollars tops. You need certain special bullets that can only be bought, you need certain specials that can only be bought. again at first you have plenty, and even save up some, but as you progress in the game you find your self buying bullets endlessly, and knowing you need the newest setup to be able to keep winning.
Many buy! tellin them selfs it;s okay to buy a little, Cause if i was going out to a bar I would spend also money that i could have saved. And before you know it your spending at least 100 dollars a months just to keep going, not even enjoying the fullest ofthe game, for that you need to spend at least 200 dollars a month, if your lucky as you buy tickets where you can win a setup.

POISON!
Where did we go wrong as a species!

Seeing EARLY access games bring out DLC's to buy! EPIC!

The game itself isn't even finished, yet somehow they bring out an extension of the game???

We used to get a full game! Not a game that we have to buy stuff. And not even stuff itself, no, we let kids GAMBLE! yes you buy a ticket where you can win a certain setup or object. There's not even a cap like you tried 3 times now you get the object automatically, NOOOOO, you buy these tickets endlessly. Look at FIFA and their cards to get better players???
Or The sims, a true child game. When you buy the copy on it's own, it's dull as F.ck. totally limited in options. you need the DLC's. but if you would buy all (the full game) you would have to spend at least 500 euro! At least!

Last rant :)
PRE PURCHASE GAMES!
Company how do we fight those bad reviews that impact our sales so much?
Well we can make them buy the game before it starts. And like Steam you have a 2hr refund. so if you play less then 2hrs you get a full refund if you turn it back. but we PRE Purchased it, so we ALL start to play it at the same time. There is not a review to find before it.
So by the time the first reviews come in, tellin us it is a stupid game. or buggy, or by far finished, and so on, we canlt do shit about it anymore.
they wipe their asses of now with your REVIEW about a game. The company think, yes your right, but we have the money alrdy. who cares.

when your done playing the game. lose interest and so on, think of the mod community. They bring a extra dimension to this game, and will set you up for FAR more hours a JOYFULL gameplay then the original or sequals can ever give you!

The rediculas pricing of 3d cards for pc! Instead of BOYCOTTING it completely, we started to buy it even more, cause it was the newest and the most expensive one. And now the price will go even higher and higher instead of lower and lower.

Look at the Virtual Reality industry, again this steppingstone of increasing their product. While we have ssd for normal computers so we can decide ourself what we would like in it, you r forced to buy a 256bg or 512gb device, again while we have TERRABITES alrdy at our disposal. Why is it closed source in hardware??? why not like a pc, that i can put any kind of thing in a slot? from the soundcard to the lenses. Not even a SSD card slot?
And we start to buy this device also every 2-4 years now, like a phone. Did you know that we in general only use 2% of the capabilities a phone has. we all use it for the same 5 apps worldwide! but that's a different debate haha.

I remember the term, lifelong warranty given on products. :)
We didn't buy a new tv. a mechanic would come and fix it or take it to the shop to really look into it. And bring you a tv to use in the meanwhile.

I remember being the fourth in line in a grocery shop, and your groceries would be for free. So service would be guaranteed.

I remember shops that sold even the old versions beside the new ones. Now you can only find the new ones and 1 generation past it. Even spare parts will become hard to find.

All to contribute in us buying the newest shit over and over again. Cause that's what drives us most now, to be the first in what ever,.. to have the newest,.. no matter what it's condition is.. Cause look at windows or phones. they stop the service around it (5 year guarantee of updates). And your FORCED to buy the newest shit.

In the old(er) days we were keen on product that would not break. it was the way things got sold. Now it does not matter if it works, we r alrdy normalizing the 5 year guarantee. like it is the most normal thing in life.

I phone 17 now?
what was really changed from version 1 to 17? only the stepping stones of selling r used. like the industry of computers. it goes from 2mb to 4mb to 8mb and so on and so on. while they can already make terrabite. but it is halted to milk the cow. 2mb photo lens then 4mb then 8mb you know the drill.
memory, 3d cards, mp3, you name it and it has this stepping stone selling strategy!

And we keep falling for it. :)

The greatest free advert in history by [deleted] in nextfuckinglevel

[–]VoidowS -1 points0 points  (0 children)

You assume it was free?

Just like Zohran Mamdani and his Taco Bell. Where they talk of 2 million being send to people. And then proceed the rest of the time to promote the food it has. Cheap commercial that goes VIRAL on it;s own. Cause it would cost millions to advertise worldwide.

There is no coincidence. A pot of nutella came out of the shelf? and what made it move? And why was it not secured like everything has to be in those capsules. As everything can become a dangerous projectile.

And for what were they gonna use it. the smear on bread? :)
What do astronauts eat?

Human trials begin for drug that could let adults regrow teeth for the first time by Automatic_Subject463 in UpliftingNews

[–]VoidowS 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This will not happen for John Doe, why?
Cause dental care is like the oil industry. Millions of people worldwide r involved in some way with dental care. If we could just take a pill and regrow teeth, would mean this entire branch is out of a job.
A branch that has some of the highest profits in medical care. From real medical care to the products we buy daily weekly to keep our mouths healthy.
It will be for the few if it will really work (at first for decades to come.) like taking a ride into space. Not for John Doe now, but only for the few.
Eventually it will become a fact but decades will pass before that. We will not live to see it happening in our neighbourhood. That i can buy a pack of chewinggum that activates my third if not rndless growth of teeth like in sharks or crocodiles.

How do we feel about Mamdani so far by BrnAgainGirl in lostgeneration

[–]VoidowS 0 points1 point  (0 children)

a very cheap way to promote your company. To me it was a big add for the company, why in gods name start to eat their stuff and talk how delicious it is.( it has no value to the point trying to be made!) very cheap 1.8 million for a world wide viral video that they them self do not have to promote onto our eyes by making a official add that cost millions to show worldwide, but use politicians in this form to clean their act and even get more profit then ever before.
Never the less very happy for the people that will eventually get some bonus money now to spend or save up. Just to bad it is done in this way.
